Sold some non Star Wars items on eBay, quoted some shipping for some guy and it came to cheaper. He demanded postage back which I was fine with and refunded immediately as i had quoted too high... Messaged him back saying he could be more polite as he was very rude and now he's left negative feedback, anything I can do? Reported it to eBay but how successful is this usually?

Did I mention he only has fifteen feedback..

Can you tell I'm ranting!?

What is the feedback he has left - if you don't think that it is correct then you can appeal to eBay

Alternatively, as you have his address you can always send him a **** in a box

Hmmm I wonder if eBay would give a ****, all the power is with the buyer  what did he say? If he is happy with the item, you refunded on postage then in theory he should have no gripe and therefore eBay should uphold your complaint but I just have no faith in them.

I hope they prove me wrong if not then see if he is selling anything and neg him back, if he has blocked you find a willing friend to do it :)

That is some bullshit. Did the item sell for cheap? I have noticed the cheaper the item the more chances you have for getting negative feedback. :( If he was rude on the feedback then there might be a chance that eBay will delete it. I had a ****ing eBayer that left me negative feedback and didn't even email me to let me know the problem. He opened a MISB item. WTF!!! It was a vintage factory sealed piece. I would have worked it out with him/her.

Yeah the items were just over a pound each, annoyingly he had six which has meant six neg feed backs....

He's put to not deal with me and I'm trying to make money off postage, which if I hadn't have refunded him the day after I posted the things you could have understood!

I don't sell much so presume this wont affect my buying power?

It's good to know I'm not the only one out there where this has happened, although drakon i feel for you on that one!

Think I'd be trying to get eBay to remove the neg anyway, he's complaining about postage and you've refunded it so I'd contact them with the refund details and see what happens. Even though you don't sell much now you might need to in the future and it'll hurt you then

I've had bad feedback removed 4 times now. Give me a link to your ebay and i'll tell you if it can be removed and how.

Rang them today and need to fill in a defamatory form and send it back to them before they do anything

Wow, i've never heard of that. One guy called me "a fraudster" (completely unwarrented but you know how ppeople be  ) and they removed it immediately no questions asked. I'm really surprised. I would personally try and call again and just try your luck with someone else. It wouldn't hurt.
You have 2 things going for you in this case-
1. He has written defamatory and made untrue accusations such as "conman". This is against ebay's rules not to mention liable.
2. The issue he mentions has been resolved as you have refunded him his postage and he has accepted said refund.

If it doesn't work i guess you'll have to fill out this form. (where do you get it? Can you do it online?). I think either way you have a good chance of getting them removed.

That's very true about ringing them but its been logged against my account, and its a form to download and send to them
