I alluded to this in another thread but I think it deserves a thread on its own. Even as a kid I thought R5 figure was way cooler than the R2 one. The red stood out better and the shape of its head was just cool. Is it a little bigger too? R5 is one of my figures of pride :D

R2 was my first figure as a kid, and still one of my favourite characters in SW to this day. The fiesty R2 would batter an unmotivated R5 in a scrap! Both great vintage figures though CC, would love to pick up a droid factory one day.

Yes a droid factory is a must. After I've completed my loose collection that'll be near the top of my list

R2 everytime for me, again he was my very firsf figure and i still have him today. no clicking head amd decals are gone but hes pricless. i do prefer tbe R5 moc than the R2 moc however.

That scene was even worse than the appearance of JarJar...weird how a scene in a movie can make me so disappointed, had to struggle to finish the movie after that...

I love R5 but I also love R2, I can't remember which one I got first in the 80s when I was a kid. But I played a lot with both of them 8)

R5 has one of the best card-backs but R2 is the cooler figure. Especially the pop-up sabre version. 8)

Let's see R5 serve drinks on Jabba's barge under pressure.
Bad motivator my arse!!..............................Lazy!!

Both are great figures, loved both of them as a kid with R2 being the favourite - I think the three different flavours of R2 just swings it his way. As a side note, my mate had a modern R2 as a dashboard ornament on his car and even though it had sounds and more realistic (to the films) it wasn't a patch on the vintage one.

I know that feeling...

Anyway I now have to split this into 3 categories...

Original Trilogy films - R2 wins
Vintage Figure - R5 wins
Prequel films - R5 wins

Overall R5 wins 2-1... How the hell did he manage that?

Because he is the better figure!

There's a comic strip where R5 is actually a Jedi droid called Skippy, and deliberately blows his motivator so that R2 can achieve his destiny
