R2D2 pop up lightsabre original?

I purchase a fair few vintage star wars items from a regular toy seller at the car booty and today purchased a loose ROTJ luke skywalker with accessories. When I got home I realised his lightsaber wasn't correct and realised it's a pop up saber.
It has a feel for being genuine as it seems to have some age to it. It passes the float tap sink test, has the injection mark on handle and isn't painted.
It's a lighter green which is sadly hard to photograph accurately, but is closest to the green in the pic sitting on my hand. Possibly a Kenner POTF one?
The guy I buy from isn't a star wars expert by any means so I'm sure he doesn't know what it was, just saw it as another accessory.
Have I had a stroke of luck then?

Having a snap cape Luke for a tenner is a stroke of luck on it's own, the pop up saber is about a years worth....looks pretty good to me but wait for an expert before doing a happy dance

Oh wow. Really?? That's ace! I'll of course wait for more opinions before my "happy dance" but amazing news so far. I'm in need of some luck in my life the now!
Not sure about selling yet. I'll look at my options about possibly pairing it with an r2d2 to up the value but I did see a sabre on its own fetch £122 on ebay

Yep - you have done well there I remember getting similar luck on eBay about 5 years ago when a Luke was listed with one of these - only thing is back then the sabre wasn't worth what it is today (at least 120GBP) - with the snap cape 12GBP then you have had a good score there for 10GBP :lol:

If its a lighter green than the kenner then it could be a glasslight, which would make it even more of a score.

Yeah it's black. But again, the reference is beyond me. When I started recollecting I was a bit oblivious to all the wee extras etc. I'm still very much learning! But enjoying it obviously I can take pics of the blaster tomorrow to see if it's what you think it is?

Black place blaster goes with Luke poncho or lando general and as with all solid black blaster it commands a premium......£30 plus nowadays!

Luke Jedi went with the much easier to find grey palace blaster.

P.s I need a black one so if you want to sell it! :wink:

Clarkspie&chips what's the repro switcheroo scam? Are people buying original items and then asking to be refunded, sending back a repro not the original?? Don't want to leave myself at risk if/when I decide to sell. I might wait and weigh up my options rather than jumping to sell just yet anyways. It may keep appreciating in value and it may be the only rare items I ever find!
