R2 Pop Up Saber - Please make my day...

I've been worried about posting this ever since I got the weapon but now I can no longer live without knowing..... is this a repro or genuine? It floats and does not sink when pushed:

I got it a Christmas from Jason Joiner. He had hundreds of weapons and gave me the rest I needed to complete my loose collection on the caveat that he didn't know if they were repro. I think I took 4 weapons, 2 were repro, 1 was fine ..... this is the 4th. I think he had these since the mid 90s but I'm not sure.

There unlike other pop-up saber repros as they are molded from green plastic. They don't match other known legit examples, shorter, different sculpt, poor definition, unique material etc etc.....

It does look a lot like the one in your photos I'm afraid. Not 100% exact but pretty close.

Can I send it to you Stef and then you can send it to anyone on TIG if it's repro, or send it back if it's good.

Unless anyone wants to trade a genuine R2 pop up for a super rare probable repro. :lol:

Rich,are there any sharp details on it?? My R2 saber is in the loft room at the minute mate so i cant compare. I do remember the POTF saber is slightly translucent, but i could be wrong. The one pictured looks a bolder green but it might be the photo. Im sure Stef will sort it

The handle edge is very sharp. The rest of it isn't as well defined. It's quite bendy but doesn't spring back.

Happened to have my box of last 17 in the room and the R2 was one of three that are not MOC so I was able to take a couple of photos if that helps.

I also did a quick float test - sinks like a stone.... Sorry!
