Hi,
Visiting a friend last week and he cracked out a tote of MOCs for me to appraise. This one though was a little too tricky for me to to even put a ball park on.
Pics tell the story, clearly the signature will de-value it. There is also a small crack on the bubble stem.

Its NOT FOR SALE, its not even mine, but the chap is keen to know if he's sitting on a nest egg that needs insurance or just a nice memory of meeting Kenny Baker.

One in worse shape sold on Echo for about £230 a couple of months ago so definitely more than that, from a grading point of view a crack would make an automatic 50/60 for the bubble but the rest is 80/85 territory. Obviously you can't get Kenny anymore so maybe the signature wouldn't actually devalue it?

For comparison this is the one from Echo, now on Ebay for £330;

All that considered I would say around £500, maybe a bit more depending on the size of the crack as it is clearly a very good looking, displayable piece.

The signiature can be removed if you know what you are doing.

He did ask if that was possible, I said I'd heard that UKG could do it... Any idea on the cost and success rate? I actually quite like the signature, but pretty certain that it would be more valuable without it.

Not sure to be honest. I think lee or Todd may know a little more about it.

Not sure on value but would lovethis piece been after a solid dome r2 for ages even with a signature !!

I would say a minimum 400-500 as it is - if signature removed (speak to Lee) then it would probably be closer to 650 on a good day (and who knows what at auction)

Prices on these are all over the place , there was a graded 80 sold for £900 a few months back , the cracked bubble will really affect the value , I wouldn't get it graded , overall probably only get a 50 , very harsh on bubble damage .

I would say £450 to £500 mark
