Question reg UKG grading baggie figures

Has anyone on here had any baggies graded (left in the bag) by UKG?

I'm going to start getting mine graded, mainly for the cases as baggies are so hard to display plus a few have tiny splits appearing due to handling the old brittle plastic.

How strict are they, most of my baggie figures are mint so im hoping for good grades.

Do they count factory overspray as a flaw?, i've never had anything graded so i just want to know what to expect, i have a few figures that have overspray and a chirpa that looks like he has 3 eyes :shock: .

Also my jawa in baggie is pretty much hidden under his cloak, all you can see are the eyes, so i wonder how they would grade him, would they just go by what they can see? or would they just give him an average grade of say 85, he's absolutely faultless from what i can see.

And finally lol, what the highest grade a figure has received from ukg?, when i look at their site the majority seem to get an 85, which i pressume is pretty good, but do many figures get higher?.

I know these are questions that i should ask them direct, but as its sunday i thought i'd ask on here first.
I'm sending my Han Solo large & small head baggies in this week so its quite exciting waiting to see what grade they will get.

Hey Del, i totally appreciate that an acrylic case would keep the baggies
safe but having an ugly grade sticker in the case aswell would just be a detraction IMO.
Maybe talk to the UKG guys about getting just cases without the grading?

Then again, protech cylinder cases do the job fine, are stackable and cheap.

I agree baggie figures look awful graded imo.

The baggies i've seen graded have looked fine to me as they look no different to loose graded figures imo.

Getting cases without the grades makes sense, as im really after square cases that would look good on some shelving, but price wise i doubt it would be that much cheaper.
I like the fact the graded cases are sealed, especially as it means my little lad cannot get to them lol.

I had some cylinders but didn't like them stacked, and the one's i had were really too tall.

I'm sending 2 baggies in to see whether i like them cased or not, i actually like the look of the UKG sticker, although the rarity scale is a bit pants lol.

It just wouldn't work for some of my baggies, for instance i have a rare macau c3po r/limbs baggie, but i pressume he would just get 1 star even though finding another would be extremely hard.
Actually his bags taped so the baggie wouldn't count anyway, but i have other figures that the same thing applies - common figure/rare baggie type, would they get a better star rating? do they know much about baggies/baggie variations?.

I submited 2 figures online on saturday, and then a message appeared saying they would be in touch with further details.
How long do they take to respond?, i've not sent the figures in yet as i pressume i need to send a form or something in with them.

i sent off figures to them at the start off the year. I never filled out the form they knew me from here. About the rarity on the baggies not to sure dell if they would know which ones are the rarest

If they can leave the rarity scale off the sticker that would help. Perhaps the grading is worth having done if only for the information supplied on the sticker and the case itself. With baggies the grade doesn't matter as much I wouldn't have thought.

Yes i'd pick UKG over AFA too, but mainly due to the cost.
Good grades would be nice purely for any future resale value, but mainly its to protect them.
I had them all in clamshells and didn't realise that a few baggies had split :? , so i now have them all in a big plastic tub, but they can't stay like that.
I want to put up some shelving or a case, and have a full set of baggies on display.
I've seen some afa loose figure collections that look really nice in a display case, i think Gary (herosolo) has his like that and it looked very nice.

I've still not heard anything from them tho regarding the figures i submitted on saturday, i will have to email them and see what the crack is.

I think your right there elliot about them be able to spot a fake or repaired itam. But they do a good service

I spoke to steve at UKG last night and have sent in 2 baggies today.

They will be changing the rarity star rating for baggie variations, so they must have some knowledge.

He seems a nice bloke, very helpful.
