Protecting your home

In my house is the most ferocious animal known to man. Not my towering German Shepard who whelps in pain when you stand on his shadow. But a nasty little **** vicious Jack Russell who would stop at nothing to get your fingers. Don't know why fingers as most dogs go for trouser legs.

My Mum and Dad have always had German Shepards.

One day when I was about 11 my parents went out in the car and left me with Bodie and Doyle (2 German Shepards) about 5 minutes later 2 blokes came round the back of our house and had the fright of their lives when they saw the 2 dogs and me in the back room at the French Doors they were trying to break into - all I heard was '****ing hell Alsatians' - they literally ran for their lives. These 2 GSD's were brothers, big and very protective of the family, they would have attacked the bastards if I let them out.

Have got got any photos to show my dog? Seriously when I'm watching the football on tele he is cowering because of the cheering and shouting at the tele. The green on the tele off the pitch is enough to make him shiver.

i got a fantastic IP surveillance camera, it takes videos and emails you snapshots when the motion detection is triggered, so even nif they broke in a smashed the camera, stole the computer ect, its already uploaded the video and emailed me some pictures of them anyway lol.

Plus i can watch and control it from anywhere, the big bonus is all this is built into the camera itself, no software needed, a bit annoying gettting pictures of the postman all the time lol.

My house has a reasonably elaborate alarm system, sensors on every window on the 1st floor, and the ones on the 2nd floor that could be accessed, glass breaks in every room, motion detectors in both main toy rooms and my living room. And IF unfortunately for the thief, if I'm home when they break in. I've got a .40 Taurus semi, a 9mm Glock semi, and a nice pistol grip shotgun that holds 5 + 1 in the chamber, and wouldn't hesitate at putting anyone that'd break into my home to harm me and steal from me down for good with.

Cheers

You see thats where the US has it right, i cant even hammer a nail through a baseball bat without getting arrested lol

This is my alarm system and burglar deterrent all in one. softest bloody sook you've ever met but set foot on our property uninvited and lookout.
Only problem is he's a pig so a treat of any kind will buy you a few seconds head start!

Haha what a softy :) He looks like he would rather have a cuddle than chase a burglar Ryan

  that's all part of his act Joe! Yes he'll let you have a cuddle.....then, when you least expect it .......................................................................................................................................................BAM he's chewed your ****en ear off.

At least he isn't trained to bite off peoples lower danglies I suppose!! Definitely looks like he wouldn't hurt a fly but I wouldn't want to test him haha

Yeah in all seriousness he's a fantastic dog, heelers are notorious for being nippy and ultra protective of their owners. He's great with the kids and very patient with them but we obviously never leave them alone with him.

When we got him he had been surrended twice to two different shelters and he was a four year old 20kg   over weight wombat. Took us two years to get most of his excess baggage off and he's only got a few more to go to be at optimum weight for his breed. He's part of the family now and he knows it!

I miss my old lab, wish i could have a dog again, maybe when i retire, this is currently my protector

I definitely think that some people in the US go a bit haywire with the gun ownership, but one on each floor of my home is reasonable and keeps them at an accessible distance from me at all times. The fact that in the UK you can't own them legally, puts you at a huge disadvantage when criminals come to do you harm. That fear is what makes the "gun nuts" get all up in arms.

Im kind of glad that we dont have guns here in the Uk. If we did have access to buying guns legally then I guess alot of people would have to get one just incase other people had them for example burglars/ thieves etc. I protect my house with brute strength, If anyone was stupid enough to break in I'd torture them so bad that they'd wish they had been shot.

That says "signature" all over it Grant, it's better than your current one

For the record, I wouldn't want to mess you with either!!

I'm glad we don't have access to guns here as well - I don't have any figures but would imagine that filling my house up with guns would be a recipe for disaster - I would bet that a lot of homeowners are shot with thier own guns

You big fibber, I've seen your limelights!!

No but seriously, I too am quite happy to be living in a gunless society. Would rather fight tooth and nail if I had to than have someone shoot you with their gun (or indeed your own) from 30 feet away.

Hey Joe I forgot to write the word (in) after break lol. The sad fact of the matter is alot burglaries happen when people aint home so Im sure in alot of cases the victims never get to torture the thieves. I agree with one of the last posts that having a working lightsaber would be perfect.
