So plus the 25% that's a fat 225K

Did u pay cash or cheque Grant :)

I sat watching it online live last night, some truly amazing items... we (I certainly) can get so excited about a Vectis item that in most cases there are many dozens of and often even 100s/1000s. This though was one off after one off after one off. My personal favourite was the hand drawn cloud city exterior sketch, looked to be torn from the sketchbook ad beautifully drawn too.

Some stunning stuff in there and some of it, dare I say, at reasonable prices. There was plenty of Death Star bits to be had at very sensible money. I also thought things like the Rebel Fleet Trooper waist coats went for an OK price and even some of the paperwork lots went within reach.

The helmet for £180k was to be expected. Given it's rarity compared to Stormtrooper helmets and even Vader helmets it was always going to be silly money.

The surprises of the auction for me were some things from modern films, i.e. from the last couple of years. Folks spending mega bucks on items that will be forgotten tomorrow. Whereas £6,000 (or was it 8?) could get you a full "Thing" costume! Some great things there and thank god I didn't watch live.

Yeh there were some pieces that fetched reasonable prices which was nice to c :)
I didn't actually watch the auction-totally forgot about it  but Marc("the guilty one") kindly sent me the link.

Was actually quite surprised I wasn't beaten to putting up this post-usually am

Stephen Lane, the owner of Prop Store took that TIE Pilot helmet on Antiques Roadshow in 2014. The experts valued it at £40 - £50k and Fiona Bruce couldn't believe it.

It sold for £180k? They got it a bit wrong.

At 25K short of a quarter of a million mate I don't think any of us had a hope in hell :!:
I just hope it went to someone who will love it as much as u would mate :)

Yes I rem that ARS episode well, u sure it was 2014? I thought it was 2015 but then again time really does fly :?

That was a different helmet Steve took on antiques roadshow. This one was a new find. Including the one just sold, that makes it six I am aware of in private hands....
