Prices of 12backs from 2012 (and earlier) compared to 2014

It is depressing but on the other hand there are bargains to be had - I've picked up a few play sets for bargain prices recently. Things always seem a bit cheaper near the summer hols

ROTJ figs are still reasonably priced too

Even the Palitoy market is up and down - Lee G's Death Star Commander on 45A didn't sell at £145 - that's a great price for a SW character on an Pal ESB card. On the flip side there's a Luke Bespin 30 currently over £5k

12 backs or high profile items are crazy and we'll just have to ride it out. But saying that there's a 12" graded Yoda box flat on the bay for around £350 - a good deal in my opinion

I bought a 12 back jawa and death squad commander back in 2007 or so for around £40 each - hate to think what they'd be worth now if I hung on to them. Crushed bubbles but looked great on display.

Anyway - my point is it's not all doom and gloom :)

Prices at the moment are a f**king joke, I put together a full run of 12 backs for £1100 in 2011 in C7-C8 condition.

And that's exactly why I said 5k for the Tri Madine was reasonable - if a beater Luke 12 back is worth $950, a 5k Tri Madine is a damn bargain!

Prices have increased rapidly even over the past 7-8 months.

I bought a Luke FB (AFA 80) for 500 pounds (best offer on eBay) just before last christmas. Admittedly this was a good even back then but I could sell it for double today.

Geeeeezzzzzzzz.

So you put a C8 12back set togheter for about 90£ a figure? That was even a bargain in 2011. I had some bargains for c8 stuff over the last 2-3 years, but never nowhere 90£.

But as you say, the current prizes are crazy and it allready crossed my mind multiple times to just sell them out and make a nice profit.
(Expecting a new baby in september and my wife beeing without a job currently are just more reasons to think about selling my collection).

Another reason for price hikes in auctions is because those Facebook groups are posting up 100's of links a day.
