Price for a mint POF Yak face in today's market

I found this auction a few days ago..

I messaged the seller and found out he ended it and I made him an offer.

What would be the market rate on something like this? I hear anywhere from $3000-$4000. The box and condition looks mint. I'd like to get it certified by the AFA. Let me know what you guys think.

I think I can remember an afa 85 POTF Yak selling for £1500. That was ready graded though so no nasty surprises- its looks lovely though.... This is a figure I have come to terms with never owning
Tri logo is do-able though!

The Star Wars action figure price guide has a mint one of these at £1750. That was in 2005 but tbh MOC selling prices (cf. asking prices ) don't seem to have changed much since then, maybe increased £30-40 from what I've been observing over the last few months.

Very hard to say as they don't come up too often. I would say 1200 pounds is about right.

Personally I would say 1500 is too much. I would be expecting to pay something along those lines for a carded potf anakin in similar condition.

It's a tough one too, because you're right, you don't see that many of them around. Like I mentioned, I found out from the seller that he was getting a lot of offers on it and his highest I think was $3500 USD. I wanted it real bad so I offered him $3700. Is it a deal? I doubt it, will it double in the next 10-15 years? I think so. but i just don't know if i'm going to be having to hang onto it for a long while to see any profilts in it when the time comes that i decide to sell it, ya know?

Fair call. I dont think you will be making any money on it any time soon with an outlay of $ 3700 if I'm honest. Have you taken into account shipping and customs charges? could become seriously expensive.

If you plan on keeping it for the duration and you had the money who cares?! I have probably overpaid for one of my favourite items but I couldn't care less as I have no intention of selling it!

Alright, I'm going to message the seller back. I think $3700 is too much and I just can't come to grips with myself to lose money on something that I really want to own. Maybe I can start a classified want list ad for it soon. I don't expect to pay more than $2500 at this point after what I've learned here on the boards.

Thankfully I paid via paypal and my cc so i'm not really worried their. I'm just a bit bummed because I really wanted a POF MOC Yakky and I was one step closer to getting one
