Posting your sold items, who to use!

they basically cant handle large packages anymore, too time consuming, more vans needed ect so they make the price pointless to bring the workload down.

probably so they can hit targets ect.

collect+ and parcel2go i have used for years, still use RM for very small parcels or special delivery now and again.

Yeah same here, since Plantman pointed me in the direction of parcel2go they're all i've used for UK to UK sending of medium or large parcels. Been a life saver. Still use RM for letters and small parcels tho i have to trim the envelopes of my large envelopes to stop them charging 310% more for the extra half a cm. Cunts.
Your £8 parcel would have cost you £3.75 with hermes.
Not sent one internationally yet so don't know what those prices are like.

It isn't just large parcels though, the new pricing/sizing is mental - I sent an Ewok Catapult boxed and via RM it would've been about £6, Hermes only £3.30.

Regular users will abandon them for other prices (like Pete has), but Mr & Mrs Joe Public (like Rebel Runner) who need to send something, just pop down to the Post Office and get stung like hell!

One of the funniest manifestation of their new absurd pricing system is large letters. I can send an A4 sized letter to sweden for 88p. But to send it across london it will be £3. (if i don't trim the envelope. Still 90p even if i do).  God i hope they go bust over this.

I don't but I am pretty sure it is designed to turn people against the RM so that people won't care if it's privatised, then it'll be even worse :(

i use collectplus myself , brilliant tracked service , they have even upped the size of the parcel you can send and they can weigh upto 10 KG , you can send a 10kg parcel with them for 6 or 7 quid cheapest option 1 week delivery or pay 9 quid odd for a 24 hour service

I used parcel monkey is week - gave me the cheapest option for high value insurance to the states.

Parcel2go and Parcel Force were both about £80

Monkey gave me a parcel force price of £40 - same service same driver as booking at the post office but £40 cheaper, what is going on with Royal Mail

And through Monkey parcel force collected from the door - saved a trip to the PO too

collect+ still have 20% off your first order, or be sneaky and use your missus's email ;)

Hmm, with a quick test i've noticed that Hermes doesn't appear on their selection. I know Hermes to be one of the cheapest, cheaper than they're showing so why?
I sent a package earlier this week. It was huge. An adult in the feral position could have been packed inside. That was £6 with Hermes. Ridiculously cheap.

Parcel Monkey 2kg package sent within the UK - £6.99, cheapest price.

Hermes 2kg package sent within the UK - £3.78 or £3.98 picked up from your address.

Yeah, Parcel Monkey can go **** itself.

I'm just talking overseas insurance Pete

For domestic I use parcel2go and Hermes is usually cheapest - but apparently a **** service if anythig goes wrong

Oh, ok. I thought UK shipping was being discussed.
Still, a point of interest that this monkey place doesn't provide you with a full spectrum of quotes for UK shipping. Given Hermes is not included.

Parcel monkey rates the services, nothing less than. 98% delivery success. I don't know but maybe Hermes scores too low, or doesn't ship overseas

Either way another site to get a comparison from

And my point was it saved me £40 over parcel2go :)

Yeah, definitely a good thing for that. But what i'm saying is i did a search for UK parcel up to 2kg and it told me the cheapest available was £6.99 when i know it to be £3.98 so could be a little misleading if people tried to use it for that.

I've just used parcel2go for the first time to send a 3.5kg parcel to Australia. For fully tracked and insured for £200 with UPS cost me £58. They said they'd pick up today, and they just have. There were other cheaper options on there but I hadn't heard of the couriers so didn't want to risk it. Saved myself £20 by not going directly with parcelforce (ie, through the post office).

I wouldn't touch Hermes ever, I've heard so many horror stories. I don't know which is worse, Hermes or Yodel.

I've used Hermes a dozen times within the UK and no problems. Brilliant service every time and super cheap.

I used Hermes last time I sent something and no problems.
Last time I used Parcelforce they smashed the MOC and refused to pay out, even though I took out insurance. Off to court over it soon.
