Bought a loose fig

p@p was £7.50  still it was a variant so i didnt mind so much.

listing stated 24hour tracked

arrived today. 2nd class recorded @3.90 so clearly not 24 hour tracked...

So 7.50 - 10%ebay fee £ 6.25. Pp fee say 0.25, it was new jffy bag used so say £1£. Tot £5

So im overcharged £1.10...

Mmmmm **** it...its only £1.10....im turning into one of those grumpy old men

7.50 is ridiculous for a single figure - should be no more that 5GBP but you are right, it is probably not worth worrying about

I wouldn't have paid 7.50 postage in the first place, unless I'd paid a lot 150+ for the figure. As you say 2nd class recorded is 3.90 which is usually more than good enough, I've never lost a package. Although it is only insured up to £50.

It's a principle thing. When I've bought something and been burned on postage I always vow to never buy from that person again. It's part of the reason I'm trying to give up EBay. Like you say it's hardly worth mentioning it for a quid odd but it really winds me up. It's just dishonest. I used to buy loads of DVDs and sometimes they'd charge £4.50 then send first class in paper envelope. If it's a valuable figure it's not worth the risk you have to pay but annoying when the seller rips you off.

I would give the seller one star for postage and give positive feedback if the figure arrived as described but mention that you were overcharged for postage (paid for 24 hr postage but arrived by 2nd class). It probably won't do much, if anything, but at least one potential buyer might notice it and decide against going with this seller.

Oh it's a pain when people well over charge for postage happened to me not so long ago 2.80 for a small letter asked for a refund nothing. Sometimes people are good and give you a partial refund but some either ignore you completely or give you a sob story it covers my petrol, printer ink etc tbh don't no which is worse knock down to 1 star if they don't get back to you.

I'd give negative feedback for them using a different method of postage than you paid for.

They aren't allowed to charge for petrol or the time taken, I always charge the actual postage after fee's are taken into account and don't normally charge for 2nd hand jiffy bags, although they do have a value as you had to pay for them when you bought the last figure or whatever.

I concur with you regarding the 2nd hand Jiffy bags. You might as well try and get your money back for them and save a few trees in process.

My motto is if I get a good/great deal then I'm willing to cut the seller some slack if he's skinned me for a couple of quid.
If it's an even steven deal then I'm all over them wanting my 17p back.

Agree with you that they aren't suppose to do that knocked his stars down. I only charge for the postage e.g 3.90 for small parcel recorded never for the box or rapping or bag.

When it comes to ebay, I do exactly what I say I'm going to do or better! I always give myself a little bit of leeway and say 3-4 days postage, but 99 times out of 100 I post the next day. If there's only a few pence inbetween 2nd and first class I do first, because it's good karma, so my wife says!
Because of this my ratings are above average and I have no neutrals or negatives , and that at most has cost me a few pints of beer over the years.

Poncho, that would piss me off too based on a) principle and b) he's a tight arsed twat as 1st class would have only cost him 50p more at that size and weight. Clearly he's trying to profiteer on postage. If you'd got it 1st class recorded you'd have still been overcharge a little but frankly who cares about that amount? At least you would have got it how and when it was promised.

I'd give the ****er an opportunity to refund the difference and if not neg 'em. I really don't care if anyone thinks that's harsh, I've had enough of ebay buyers and sellers both. I provide a first class service and you will still get twat buyers that blame you for postal delays and twat, dishonest sellers who try and **** you over. It's give and take and as I take it I'm more than happy to give it out, too.

If it makes you feel any better just had a three quid demand today from the post office as an eBay seller didn't pay the correct postage cost.

Seller should refund you that but it's not always the sellers fault as some Post Office clerks don't use the gadget they have for checking the envelopes depths.

Cheers... The clerk in my post office is quite officious and checks everything, so that seems very plausible!

Honestly, if I was in a bad mood, which never happens honest, I would be on to him asking for a refund.
As you say, it's not the amount that matters, it's the principal. He charged you for tracked 24 hour and sent it second class. We know he didn't do it to save you money, or cos it would benefit you, he did it to save himself a few quid. Drop him a note ask for a refund, if he pisses about straight to Ebay, you know whos side they will come down on.

I agree - I'd get in touch and ask for some kind of refund, especially when it was promised tracked.

I once got neg'd by a guy because I overcharged on postage to the grand total of 41p.
