Hi Guys, hopefully you can share your thoughts and let me know what you would do if you were in my position.

I recently bought an AFA carded Vader on ebay. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=290227117671&ssPageName=STRK:MEWA:IT&ih=019
The picture, although clear isn't very close up, and although I didn't ask, I presumed there weren't any problems or things to mention aside from the grades etc. Received it today. The card/figure itself is what I expected, but there is a damned hair inside the case. Its about two inches long - at a guess I would say its a cat hair. Such a silly thing, but its quite noticeable and rather annoying. Without wanting to dislodge the card from its position - or worse, damage the bubble due to the figure knocking against it, I tried shaking the case a bit. The hair slid down the card to the bottom. I hope that I might, with a good deal of fiddling, get the hair out by sliding a bit of paper through the bottom crack or something - but after half an hour of trying I've not had any joy yet. See pictures below:

What do you reckon? Do you think its worth complaining and maybe aim for a partial, albeit small refund? I'm a reasonable guy and don't look for arguments in my ebay dealings. I know its just a hair - but obviously small flaws on a card affect the value a lot, and for a display piece a bloody big hair in the case is not what I ordered! On one hand I might be able to work the hair out if I'm lucky - do you think a refund request of say 10% or more is unreasonable? On the other hand, he seems quite a well known seller and I'd rather not ruffle his feathers too much in the event I might want to buy from him again!

Cheers guys!

am not to sure how you would stand against trying to get money back. How many palitoy 12 backs do you have now. I did notice that seller has been trying to sale that vader since before xmas

Great! No doubt I overpaid..... :? Oh well it seemed ok value at the time - I'm no expert, and I've always wanted one good carded Vader to treasure!

I have three now - Vader, Stormtrooper (my avatar) and a sandpeople. To be honest I don't think I'll be getting too many more due to the cost - had this one sent to work as the missus would murder me if she realised what I was spending!

Maybe I'm just being a big girl and overly fussy about the hair.

One of my AFA 90's has a small piece of packing foam stuck to the punch. Resumabaly it got in there during the casing process!

Jason

p.s. good luck in your hunt for 12 backs...

Thanks Jason
I guess I will probably just put up with it and hope to work it out the case. Its not as bad now that it sits at the bottom, but it pisses me off anyway as I know its there!

Like mr_palitoy one of my AFA figures has a peice of styrofoam in there  god knows how it got it!
You may find that it will eventually work its way out!

I don't think you overpaid on it at all. Its just that theres been a few for sale lately.

You might be able to get the hair out if you can get it to the other side of the card then open the air gap in the case up slightly so it drops out.

I dont think you over paid for it as the AFA 85 the sellers on ebay have been wanting £1000 or submit best offer

I can't even SEE the supposed hair!?

(The one that's supposed to be in the carded Vader, before any funny ****er says anything!)

That was funny! :D

Got the hair out! After an hour of fiddling - managed to get some paper in there and sort of hook it out. Happy days!

Yeah I saw the AFA 85 one on ebay - but double the price just for an extra notch higher in the grading? I'm not that condition fussy.

I'm a happy chappy now!
