polish figures

hmmm

this chimay beer is lush!! 7% trappist beer:)

random topic lol

i think some bootlegs are cool but some look rubbish :)

Weasel i didnt think you were, i was just trying make it aware to the guys who collect bootlegs that i am not putting their collections down thats all.

Right back to taking the pi55 out of bootlegs :D

More and more variant collectors seem to end up collecting bootlegs once their supply of new variants dries up !!!

I'd rather collect loose variants and bootlegs than buy MOC's of the same character several times over just because it has a different picture on the back which you cannot even see when displayed !!!

Han - thats been done before.
Can't remember the name but there was a series of figures done which were (I think) simply repaints that some guy did - stuck them on a home made card and passed them off as some rare find of bootlegs.

did he have the copyrights to knocking out shite?

thanks

To me its all about colours, the polish line for one is certainly packed with loads of different colour schemes on the figures, they might all, or nearly all have been made with biker scout limbs but that adds to the querkyness of them, I think they are fantastic! I have collected bootlegs for some time now and have some lovely bright and colourful pieces in my collection. They look fantastic all together and boldly stand out when stood next to a kenner figure.

Bootlegs rule IMO.

How can you ruin and already broken figure? I think it looks like a valid attempt to make it semi-presentable. In all fairness the figure is better with 2 legs than 1.

I do agree with Adam :) The ERG is rare enough to make a restoration on. He did a nice job with the matching colour and leg type. Only the shape of the foot gives it away. It would be frankensteining to put a repro decal on a vintage R2...

The topic is about Polish bootleg though...this is why I like them, also posted recently on RS...:

From the same line as Craig's Yoda figures, I think these are great!

~Martijn!

Nice collection Martijn. 8)
They really do look like they were painted by Stevie Wonder though!
Surely, whoever made them realised they looked NOTHING like the originals? (That's ignoring the fact some of the molds are pish poor as well)
