Anyone seen these? Just jaw-dropping, mind-blowing, incredible etc etc. Some are the only ones to exist. The stuff that dreams are made of. Of course with prices to boot, but not surprised. :shock: :shock: :shock: :shock:

The condition of them is insane. The Luke farmboy is my fave so far. Wonder if he has a Fett :shock:

I think the rebel soldier was mine. Sold it for about £400 in 2003 or so. Haha.

It's mad, but I'm not surprised. This is a large collection which will have taken years to assemble. I'm certain that the insane prices that certain things are fetching now has probably got to the state where this collector has decided to cash in. I don't know who's collection it is but it would be interesting to get the story of why they are selling up and why now. Depends how much such a huge amount of money could mean to them.

With this sale, and the Craig Stevens palitoy sale do you think other big collections previously locked up may come up for sale? I wonder if it's a trend that might be on the rise and could ultimately see a lot of long time collectors leaving the hobby.

Maybe some long term collectors are leaving,
but there's no shortage of people buyin up all the usual grails for whatever price they come up for (VCJ SW 21B Fett etc). Just the nature of this or any hobby. People leave, people rediscover it, some never stop. Someone smart enough to have bought these initially I'm sure didn't see it as just an investment; he would have had to have loved the items in the first place. Could be a number of reasons - health, moving abroad, buying a new home, getting bored with the hobby as what else is there to collect when you pretty much all of the most desirable MOCs there are. Basically, where else could you go? especially without having to spend absolute fortunes, and that other grail items other than the usual ones, come up once in a blue moon, and you haven't got the patience to wait years for them to come up.

The MOC line where the back is almost more desirable to display that the front
