As you may know ive been having problems with a recent ebay transaction. Heres the original thread:

http://www.starwarsforum.co.uk/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=7090

Having been awarded a refund by Ebay I was very happy. The seller has since sent me an intimidating, threatening and downright nasty message, through Ebay:

"LISTEN YOU ****ING PRICK I KNOW WHERE YOU LIVE AND YOU WILL BE SORRY. yOU ARE A FREAK AND YOU AINT GETTING A REFUND FROM ME NE VER Y CAREFULL FROM NOW ON"

What do I do? I feel genuinely scared about what this guy has said. I live with semi elderly parents and my girlfriend.... and obviously he does have my address as he sent me his ****. Is this a Police matter or Ebay or ignore it or what?

Sorry for starting a new thread, I just want some reassurance please.

I'd at least be using the Ebay helpline to take their advice.
What harm can it do to ring the local Police also (not 999) and report it just in case?

The helpline should at least remove this bastard keyboard hero off ebay forever.

Ed, and ebay and the police is the best option.

Ed , lots of people from ebay to forums have over the years threatened people like this, its a way to intimidate you thats all, I have never heard of anyone coming to harm from some retard on the internet like this guy.

I would however still pass it on to the police as it is a direct threat and mentions he knows where you live etc, it won't hurt to file a report, other than that I would just keep your wits about you, don't make it worse by replying to this guy - you can tell he's not 100% with it if hes threatening bodily harm over a toy.

Keep your alarm on your house on, lock your doors at night etc, nothing you don't already do.

I think its very low when people start mentioning violence/insinuating they will get revenge on you for such a trivial matter.

Overall, anythings possible BUT try not to worry too much. It's a downfall of buying and selling anywhere because you have to give your address out, maybe its an idea in the future to use a business address mate.

Thanks guys. My only fear of reporting him is: Hes booted off Ebay and loses money. Then hes really pissed and then has more of a reason to carry out the threats. I know its highly unlikely but there are a LOT of freaks out there who have nothing better to do. From now on I will use my workshop address only, I feel bad about putting my family at risk. My girlfriend is a bit of a worrier at the best time, she just got out the bath and Ive told her. She thinks I should just drop the refund claim and ignore the guy..... What I hate the most is the fact this guy is a bloody bully. Part of my thinks **** him, but then ive got my family to think of :|
Im waiting to speak to Ebay and I think I will go to the Poilce tomorrow. I think im going to close my Ebay account for good

Personally I wouldn't worry Ed. I can't see someone doing anything like he's mentioned for the sake of a few £

Definitely go to the police. I used to work as a call handler (emergency and non-emergency calls) for a police force and this thing is taken seriously. This guy has threatened you and what should happen is that someone will come and see you (if you go into the police station it might be quicker tbh), they'll take details and then pass them onto the force where the twat lives and someone will go round to him and basically tell him to shut up and don't do it again or else he'll be in the ****!

Also, just in case, if you report this and give your home address if you ever need to (which of course you won't) ring 999 and you can't talk it automatically gives the home address of the phone call and they should still use a system that shows all previous incidents to do with that address and they'll send someone immediately.

I haven't read the other thread all the way through but I presume its the MarilynJane seller?

You could always tell him that you've given his details to 50 associates with the instructions that if anything happens to you they are to take appropriate action. See how he likes it.

Honestly mate, don't lose any sleep over it, most of the time it's just utter bullshit and a method of intimidation. Personally I wouldn't send any reply whatsoever and just let the law sort it!

Lads, thank you. I have calmed down now and more importantly my mrs is ok

*Ebay- Buyer Beware*

Dude, seriously **** him. He is probably some little prick with keynoard balls.

1) Report him to the Police
2) Report him to Ebay

Seriously I wouldn`t loose sleep over it, worst comes to it, we can organise a forum outing.

wheres the like button :)

Glad you feel a bit better Ed, Sorry to hear this got you and family upset, it's not nice when someone starts being personal on the internet, no need for that at all and its a childish way to get one over on someone by intimidating them by threatening family.

Don't worry the nasty **** will get whats coming to them, hes an Essex lad isn't he? They are all mouth so I hear ;)

Ed,
I know how you felt I work in Gamestation and have had a 'hit' put out on me by some pikeys before, but most people are all mouth.
Glad you feel better :D

Yeah agree with all of the above Ed,
a) Don't worry too much. People often get like this on ebay or forums for example. People are very brave when they're not face to face with someone. It's the internet version of road rage. Bump into someone in the street and it's "excuse me, pardon me, sorry buddy" Cut someone up in a car and it's all "i'm gonna kill you you c*** i know where you ****ing live" etc. 99% chance he's blowing hot air.
b) Report him to ebay anyway. He's put of line and has just ****ed himself by sending that message.
and c) report him to the police. They take threats like this very seriously. You could actually get an injunction against him on this evidence alone and then, if he even comes near you, he could go to jail.

But again, really don't lose any sleep over this. He's just blowing steam.

an after thought- if you're really worried. Close your ebay account and open another one (after you've spoken to ebay). That way he won't be able to contact you. Just a thought.

wow pig..... A pikey hit? That is ****ing scary.....ive seen snatch and i know what theyre like

dom i do like the idea of a forum field trip to essex.....!

Pete im seriously considering boycotting ebay for the forseeable future. The whole situation has upset the family, especially hannah, my girlfriend. I can forgo buying **** if it means this doesnt happen again. I will probably feel different in a week or so. So im not going to do anything rash. Having said that i havent had a decent lot off ebay for months.
Im sending the item back to him in the morning....recorded delivery with a tracking number. That will be the end of the matter. Hopefully

Hey Ed, sorry to hear about this rather nasty and unnecessary confrontation with someone who is clearly a ****ing belroy. I agree with all thats been said, Ebay and Police. I have no doubt that it will amount to nothing.

Let us all know what ebay and the police say or indeed if Charlie Big Potaoes decides to send another message.

Hi Ed,

Like the other lads have said, report the imbecile to ebay & the police & don't worry about it mate! :D

It's never nice to be threatened but i seriously doubt that you'll ever get a visit from this ****wit!

If you do hear from him again, tell him to come to memorabilia next month as i haven't punched anybody for 6 years but i'll gladly make an exception in his case!

Just another to say don't worry. Odds are he's just some arsehole with a keyboard who is hoping to scare you off. Report him to Ebay and the cops and then forget about it.
