BEGIN to think!?
He's a ****ing narcissist. He makes Donald Trump look modest FFS.

Have I mentioned Danny Rose is **** yet? I can't remember. That's got to be the first time I've seen a defender try a blind step over in their own penalty area. Of course there was a Saints striker right behind him waiting to tap it in. Absolutely unreal.

So Spurs have gone from 10 points clear of 4th to mathematically 5th (assuming Utd win tomorrow and Chelsea win both their games in hand) in 2 weeks. That's got to be some kind of record for incompetence. And once again although Danny Rose was at fault for the first goal, it was Poch's supreme arrogance responsible for it. There is nothing wrong with winning one nil, but this fool always wants more and keeps getting, quite rightly, punished for it. He will no doubt blame the referee or being up in the stand, rather than admit he is simply incapable of holding on to a lead. They don't deserve a CL spot based on the last four games, and they certainly aren't title challengers. Utterly embarrassed to be a Spurs fan today. Great way to arrive at the new stadium.

I agree Rose is utter shite, both generally for Spurs, and definitely in today's game. However, one of my biggest problems with Spurs is simply the lack of common sense shown by the players at times, and by extension, presumably also the manager. In the first half today they were positive, dominating both possession and chances. They hit the woodwork twice, Kane fluffed a couple of great chances he'll quite rightly think he should have done better with, but he also scored a good goal and they went in at the break deservedly ahead.

But then in the second half, when Southampton were bound to try to stage a comeback, the same Spurs players who were so positive in the first half looked like they thought they'd already won the game, even though half of it was left to play. Their passing and general play became even sloppier (because despite their dominance of the first half, there was some pretty sloppy passing from Spurs then too), especially from Danny Rose whose amazing cock up in his own penalty area beggars belief!

The trouble is Spurs have done this time and again this season, yet they never seem to learn their lesson. They just sit back and relax when they have a slender lead with much of the game remaining, and seem to assume their opponents will just give up! And Spurs' simply infuriating ****ing useless it-never-EVER-****ing-works backpassing game then slips into overdrive, with almost no player willing to pass the ball forward, and instead they start to dick around in their own half, passing it side to side and then back, increasingly close to Lloris, who inevitably has the ball hurriedly kicked back to him at some point, forcing him to boot it forward, and usually gifting possession back to the opposition!

Another current failing shown by most of the squad is a seeming belief that they can dribble the ball past the entire opposition single-handed! When they have free players running forward left and right of them, it's rare indeed that they pass the ball to one of them, and instead they wait until they are surrounded by 3 or 4 opposing players and then try to weave their way through them all rather than passing the ball forward early and running into space themselves! It really isn't difficult, and yet it's very rare that any of them actually do it. Sissoko is about the only Spurs player who consistently manages to dribble past multiple opponents more often than not. The rest of them can't, and yet always try to; Lamela, Winks, Rose, Dele, even Eriksen sometimes. Pass the ****ing ball for Christ's sake, you selfish little shits!

I get fed up with watching the same old mistakes being made by Spurs time and time again. You don't relax until the final whistle, whether you're concentrating on pushing forward and trying to score, or defending and trying to prevent the opposition from scoring. We've squandered a wonderful lead over our rivals in the league over the last couple of weeks and next up is away to Liverpool!

I appreciate you two are far better placed to comment on Spurs, but I think you are being harsh.

Spurs have a title challenging first 11 but not many decent beyond that. Challenging for the CL and league was always going to be difficult as Levy refuses to pay for extras in the transfer windows.

Fatigue and injuries are as much to blame as tactics.

Last quarter of the season is always going to be tough when rotation through the year is out of the question.

Much like most owners of non-oil teams Levy sees top 4 as success, which makes him a tidy sum, and relies on Poch doing well and unearthing gems. He might have gambled too far this year, I can see Man U and Chelsea getting top 4 this year.

Just watched the Spurs game on MOTD, my first thoughts when Saints scored their first was "Edd's gonna love Danny Rose even more now." Woeful defending by him. But Vertongen and Sanchez had chances to block/clear it too. WTF Rose is thinking trying that in his own penalty area I'll never know. He is a liability. I'm still far from convinced by Sanchez, he looks no more than bang average to me. Maybe I just notice the shite he does and not the good stuff, I don't watch Spurs as much as you Spurs fans, but he looks like he has a mistake in him. Very much like Lovern.

Spoons may have a point, in that Spurs may be paying the price now for tiredness and lack of ability to rotate earlier in the season. Again, I'm not a Spurs fan so I can't say how often Poch has rotated or rested players. But I do rememebr him saying he liked to work with a smaller squad. Although that may just be him trying to reduce the flack over Levy refusing to spend any money.

That is some slump in form by Spurs. I had them as near certs for 3rd. The way things are going they could end up 6th.From memory I think Arsenal have a lovely cushy run in too, Spurs still have the top two, both away. There is a big few weeks agead for Spurs. Missing out on CL next season from the position they were in a few weeks would be a shambles.

On the rest of yesterday's action. Can someone tell me how Pickford stayed on? He drops the ball and Rondon is about to tap it in so he Rugby tackles him. The ball was literally 6 feet away. He was not going for the ball, he's not Inspector Gadget! It's as blatant a 'taking out' of someone as you will see and should have been a straight red. Hopefully the fact he wasn't even booked means the FA can go back and ban him for it.

And ehhh that opener for City. Sterling is offside when Aguero knocks it on, he never gets back onside, the defender only plays it cos Sterling is there ie he is interfering with play, AND he is STILL offside, yet the ref gives it?
Woeful decision.
Sure City would probably have gone on to win, but the first goal in a game like that, where
Watford were frustrtaing City is crucial and that effectively ended the game. City have had a few fortunate decisions like that recently, the farcical pen against WH. They are still the best team in the lague and deserve to be champions, but let them win it properly don't hand it to them with gift wrapping on it.

As for today's games; if Liverpool don't get an early goal against Burnley I could see it being a long long day and more points being dropped. Burnley are great at frustrating sides and Pool have struggled to break those sort of teams down recently. I have the feeling that Pool's season is at a cross roads, drop points today and lose on Tues/Wed and that's effectively the season over. They haven't been playing that well recently either, bar the Watford game. There is a lot of pressure on today. Let's hope Salah remembers how to play the game.

Ahhh ****. Lallana starts. Liverpool playing with 10. WTF does Shakira need to do to get a game? At least he looks like a footballer, lallana is just a blackhole of nothingness. My money is on him being subbed just after an hour having done the sum total of FA squared and Pool needing a goal.

Arsenal Utd looks to be a great game. Arsenal have been stinking in EL and Utd will be buoyed by that miracle in Paris, but the PL is different. I suspect the first goal will go a long way to decide who wins. Utd will have a better side than in Paris or should that be 'will actually have a side', but that Arsenal forward line is scary on its day. The Arsenal back five are also scary but in a totally different way. Bar Koshelney and Bellerin that's as midtable a defence as you will see. There could be a good few goals in that game. Fingers crossed anyway.

Not quite a classic but not a bad game.
WTF DDG was doing for that first goal I will never know. Had Mingers/Karius done that everyone would have been in stitches. It goes in the middle of his goal, he can see it from 30 yards and he just sort of watches it. Bizarre. For one of the best, if not the best, keepers in the world he has made some big old **** ups in the last year. He probably cost Utd that game.
Though the fact Rashford and Lukaku refused to take any of the dozen or so chances that came their way didn't help.
As for that penalty. Joke. Never a penalty. Barely any contact at all. If penalties are given for that then we may as well say any contact inside the box is a penalty and we can all sit back and enjoy games finishing 16-15.

Gonna be close for the last two CL spots. 3 pts between the four sides, assuming Chelsea beat Brighton.

Zidane back to Madrid looks like quite a shrewd move on his part.
Leave on a monumental high whilst knowing your star player is off and the club will not perform without him as you cannot replace 45 goals, wait for two managers to **** up, return triumphantly with zero expectations this season and get given 300 million to spend on whoever you want in the summer. Not that I'm in the least bit cynical

Lol.

Rumour has it he asked for control of transfers and a large budget to spend at the end of last season and the President told him to do one. To get him back he has had to agree to both those requests. TBF How you can expect anyone to manage a club and have zero say in transfers is beyond me. But Real have been like that for years and years and years.

I'm still surprised he went back but I guess we will find out how much he was promised in the summer. So far Real are rumoured to be signing, Hazard, Mbappe, Neymar, Pogba, Eriksen, and Mane. And they will fund this by shifting Gareth Bale, apparently.
The last 5 names of that list will hardly be sold, if they are it will be for daylight robbery money, as for Bale, who the **** would want him AND be able to afford him!? No one.

Zidane back to Real Madrid is a funny one, he's had his cake and eaten it their IMO. He new with Ronaldo going it was going to be hard replacing his 50 goals a season and what followed proved him correct. He's waited for other managers to mess it up and then stepped in again, when they can't win anything!

**** I hate Ronaldo

Ohhh and Bayern to go through tonight. Pool have been stinking away from home in CL this season and the game has that feel about it.

This makes an interesting read in the wake of the world waking up to Jacko. There are fake rape claims out there but these claims do seem to be pretty regular with Ronaldo. The gold digger excuse doesn't really work when there are plenty of other high profile single rich footballers who don't attract the claims. Rich celebrities do seem to live by another rule book when it comes to the law.

Ronald's is unbelievable, you really can't make it up. Liverpool will go through on a way goals tonight.

Link won't work for me. It says I'm blocked!?

Have you got your settings blocking Arsenal sites

Works fine for me :?

Lol, no. Still blocked.

I use an ad blocker so it may be that, but I have not had that problem on any other site, some ask me to turn it off (like **** I will) but none have blocked me before.

Great result for Liverpool last night, I was not expecting that at all. Bayern were piss poor. They didn't even try and play football at any stage. Quite how a supposed European great is reduced to the level of bringing on Renato Sanchez, a guy who couldn't get game at Swansea last year, when they are at home in a CL knock out game and in need of a goal I will never know.
That entire squad of theirs needs an over haul. Far too many players are past their prime or just need moved on. An over haul like that will cost them 200m yoyos minimum and given they refuse to pay big bucks I can't see things improving massively for them any time soon.

What odds on 2 English sides drawing each other and the other two getting Barca and Juve!?
Apparently there is a 68% chance of an all English tie. I'm hoping Liverpool aren't in it. I see them play Utd, City and Spurs two or three times a season, I don't really want to see them play them in the CL as well. Plus I still remember the years when Liverpool drew Chelsea every ****ing season and just how exciting those Rafa v's Jose games were. Think, having a root canal without any anesthetic.

Everyone will want Porto and Ajax and will want to avoid Barca and Juve (plus City).

Not to worry, proper European competition starts tonight....... :?

Hopefully we'll manage a dramatic comeback so that we can get knocked next round instead

I would rather get Liverpool in the next round. My biggest fear in life is Man Utd loosing to Liverpool in the Champions League final. Its funny but I'm not joking.

I'm pretty sure Man Utd will not be in this years final though. :?

Ajax Juve, Spurs City, Pool Porto and Barca Utd.

Tough auld draws for Spuds and Utd, I can't see them winning those.
Porto will be out for revenge on Pool. I doubt they will play a stupidly high line and wait until they are 5-0 down before changing it this year.
Should Utd beat Barca and Pool beat Porto they meet in the semi. That would be some game
