No confidence Spurs are serious contenders this season either, maybe this would be good enough in some previous seasons but as you say both Liverpool and City are looking pretty unstoppable right now and we're looking at another record breaking points tally. Just our luck.

Yes I thought the red was very harsh last night. The foul wasn't that bad, I've certainly seen worse, and to show a straight red under those circumstances (Wolves were already losing and playing a much better team away from home) pretty much kills the game, he might as well have abandoned and forfeited it. Actually credit to Wolves for only conceding two more.

Harry Kane out until March and Son off to Asian cup. Spuds definitely aint winning the league now.

On the plus side it might convince Levy to open his wallet! Not that that's any consolation for losing two of our best players, but it might help.

Yeah Kane out for a long time, missing some big games. League Cup final and both CL ties. Suprised they're not tempted to dip into the transfer market and grab a striker. Not sure who you would get though? :?

And that is why, I suspect, Levy will keep his wallet closed. Well, that and he likes the cobwebs in there and doesnt want them blown away if he opens it.

Who could Spurs get, realistically? Whoever it is needs to be good enough for a side in the top 4, but he also needs to accept once Harry Kane comes back he's getting ****ed onto the bench and left there bar the odd run out against some dross. Not many players will tick both those boxes. Plus, will Levy want to spend 30/40/50 million on a squad player? January transfers are always inflated as the selling club really doesnt want to sell as it's harder to replace, and Levy is not renowned for his spendthrift ways.

Actually looking at the squad, it's not like Spurs have NO backup. Lamella, Moura, Llorente, and possibly even Jansen are all capable of scoring goals, as you say I can't think of anyone better that is readily available. The reason they don't score is because they don't play, you can't score 30 goals a season coming on in the 80th minute every other week. Maybe this is just what Spurs need, give their 'reserve' strikers a chance and prove they're not the 'Harry Kane team' *

* and come 6th in the process

I'm a bit sad that Dembele is going, he was one of our only players (along with Kane) who can hold the ball. I used to enjoy watching him tease 5 or 6 players unable to get the ball off him.

I'd forgotten about Jansen. I suspect Poch had too.
Whoever comes in will take time to get match sharp. As you say, you can't score goals on the bench and you can't get match sharp by watching. Training helps but isn't the same as pitch time.

It's a good thing we dont have any two leg semi finals or CL knock out matches coming up to give them time to get match sharp

It's a blow for you to lose Kane for sure but one player a team does not make. As you say it's not like you don't have other good players. It could be more the psychological effect it has on the team without his leadership. When you're near the top you have to maintain it cos everyone around you is also winning. I wouldn't worry about Arsenal but you're gonna have Chelsea and Man U snapping at your heels in the coming weeks and months. I'm a Hammer but I would honestly like to see Spurs or Liverpool win it, just for the sake of variety!

Yeah, my feelings on the worthless cup are well known, but it is a shame he'll miss your CL games. That tie with Dortmund was looking like a great game, now I'd fancy Dortmund to win it.

No wonder I'm going bald having to watch games like that

Only saw bits of it but I heard Fulham didn't deserve to lose.

Alli off with a hamstring injury. Nightmare timing for Spurs.

Spurs certainly weren't great, Llorente scored in the wrong goal  however the dirty ****er Mitrovic should have been sent off about three times so I have zero sympathy for Fulham, Sanchez did really well not to rise to it the last couple of times.

Yeah if Alli's out as well we're definitely in trouble!

Go and wash your mouth out this instant!!!! We would literally NEVER hear the end of it!

Hammer fans, talk me through the Aurnatovic situation. He's not there that long, so is he just being a money grabbing bastard (is there any other reason to go to China?) or is he using them is away of getting another move?

Talk of Spurs buying Andy Carroll to cover their lack of strikers. £2/4 million. Sounds like an ideal signing for Spurs, he'd fit their style of play down to the ground.

The rumour is he has MASSIVE gambling debts and needs a lot of money quickly. Probably just a rumour though and he is just money grabbing twat, like most footballers these days.

Carroll to the Spuds is total nonsense IMHO, although they are suddenly looking very short up top. You can guarantee, that if it did happen, he would somehow stay fit and score shedloads of goals!
