Hi guys.

Need to vent, so sorry about this.

I just sold my 12 Star Wars Bus Stop Posters to a guy and paid for next day delivery.

The courier company have a report saying that when he signed the package was in good condition.

Now the buyer has contacted me saying 4 of the posters were damaged, there was no ends to the poster box and that he wants a FULL refund.

I have contacted Paypal and they say its my fault that I didn't insure it fully, but the guy told me not to go mad on postage, now he's saying that he ASSUMED that I would send by Next Day Special Delivery on a 7KG item!

I know full well that they will get their grubby little paws into my account and refund him, plus he hasn't even paid for the postage!

There is no protection by Paypal for me, absolutely none.

Its an absolute joke!

Any thoughts or help?

Bram

P.S I insured it up to £20 which was the minimum that parcel2go insure it for, unlessyou pay more!

That sucks Bram. Can't you give PayPal copies of your messages to support your case. At the end if the day, he should have checked the box for damage before he signed for it. Surely it's a dispute with the courier, not PayPal?

I have all the e-mails... I know its a dispute with the courier, but I cannot believe after all the fees I pay, especially when they tokk their cut of his payment that they don't cover you at all?

The way he describes the damage I would never have signed. It says from the courier company that he signed for in good condition!

Now I am out £110 plus £10.19 for postage which he hasn't paid.

So pissed off!

That sounds like a right bag of **** - trouble is you know what is going to happen - paypal will find in his favour.

They will probably make him send it back to you - but you can bet he will use the money that he hasn't sent you for postage

Bang on the Head again!

I'm gonna offer him a part refund, when he gets back to me.

Been sending him stuff all day, still no response or pictures of the damage, which is what I need to claim my pityful £20 refund!

Sorry to hear this....

Sadly paypals stance doesnt surprise me, they are owned by ebay

You must have a case though, the guy signed for it in good condition it is his responsibility to check first.

Hope you get a positive outcome

Paypal are a ****ing rip off and a disgrace. I'd ask the buyer to send the posters back to you, fully insured and at cost to him. At least then he's got to do some leg work and make him pay some money at least.

Paypal don't take any heed of emails from buyers. My first big rip off was around 2003 when some guy in Florida bought my (broke) digital camera - I charged him £20.00 postage and I think it cost £14 to send and he went off on one saying I should refund him the rest, I said not really as he got a good price, so he proceeded to do a charge back so I was out £70 - not a lot but I know, but it is ****ing annoying.

eBay/paypal just aids fraudsters.

The guy is now asking for £60 refund on top of not paying the £10 it cost to send!

I only charged him £110 plus £10 postage (which he hasn't paid).

It was a brilliant deal for him, considering he sells the Yoda ones for £60 and there's 3 MINT ones that are still undamaged!

I think he's taking the piss!
