palitoy/trilogo cardback limelight

Great news on completing the epic run and I'm so glad that I didn't end up messing this up for you in anyway. People tend to ask 'what's next then?' when someone completes a run but.........oh hell, what's next? :D

Jason,

That is an absolutely epic run of cards. Never seen such a thing. Going for MOC next?

Was this from that run of cards that was the subject of the discussions on outing auctions?

Some posts from facebook that I just made:-

Yes, it was a sister auction of the highlighted lot. The next highest one. When you out an auction like that, you effectively out all the auctions listed in a similar manner at the same time. Given I'd waited 8 years to finish the set, I thought trying to quash the links was a better option than saying nothing and hoping for the best...

And:-

The WIFI in Egypt was really ropey. My longest outage was almost a day until I figured out it didnt fill in the DNS entries properly and I wrote them down and typed them in by hand. I lost WIFI 4 minutes before the auction ended. I'd pre sniped before I went on holiday in case this happened and this saved my bacon in the end. Took me 2 hours to find a WIFI signal to see if I'd won or not via emails, and then another hour of finding a stronger WIFI signal in the resort I was in so I could get the paypal pay for ebay auction links to work properly.

Well that's certainly a tense couple of hours for you and I can see why my link I posted was reason for concern. This kind of thing happens all the time I'm sure so hopefully there will be some ruling here to help prevent this sort of thing happening. I know we can't stop this outing practice happening elsewhere but every little helps.

Just glad it all worked out and I'm still unsure why the listing I made the original thread on went so high for that card lot although I'm sure you have a good idea Jason?

That lot had 2 rare PBP cards in it, a Luke x-wing and a Luke farm boy.

Luke farm boy hasnt been seen before I think and isn't on the Spanish matrix:-

Consider that a less rare 2-1b that went for 350 euros for a card that was missing the top third of the card on RS a few months back. The bubble cut is nicer in my opinion. So 250 quid for 2 rare PBP (and a clipper worth 40 quid) might be a bargain.

Cheers Jason

Thanks for the insight into the card back lot Jason. It's hard to spot the PBP cards at first but looking at the price there were definitely a few people who knew what they were looking at.

Another big find. Thanks to Andy Clarke and Max Field for giving me the heads up on an ebay auction that had this bad boy in it:-

This 41 back sandpeople card/figure combo was previously unverified on the palitoy matrix:-

I now have the first 12 on 41 backs:-

And my complete run looks like this now:-

Love the sets.

Do we know for sure if Dengar exists on a 41 back?

I'm not 100% convinced tbh. It wasn't down as existing on palitoy.org but was likely a card I was told existed by word of mouth for my cardback guide. I still don't have a cardback of it in 10 years of looking.

The rumour has it Darren Simpson has a sealed example, but until we see proof I think it's existence is very unlikely. Would love to be proved wrong.

That will be why it's on my guide then.
