Palitoy... Made in France

I recently acquired a Boxed Palitoy AT-ST. The box is in pretty poor condition and has a Palitoy logo with a Made in France sticker. Is it unusual to find Palitoy stuff made in France?

And ties and rancors - presumably most stuff was made there too, presumably we got it as overstock
