Palitoy Employees Vectis Auction - Details Up

Just caught up with all the prices realised from this auction and thought that things generally went for less than usual. I expect the condition wasn't quite as good as the same lots in previous auctions but it was a good way to get some Palitoy 12 backs less than the recent going rate. The Palitoy catalogue prices seemed to be all over the place with some selling for over triple the the price for the same catalogue that just sold (even the same condition). I managed to bag one and did get it at the higher end price for the batch so maybe bidding in advance goes against you when ther are several of the same item (not that I over payed by much looking at the one that sold for the least so I'm still happy with it :D ).

I'm not surprised that the 12 back Palitoy Jawa went for so much or even the reseal as the reseal was in amazing condition and the Jawa has been one of the hardest ones to get from these recent auctions. I'm sure we'll see some of the members wins on here soon and let's hope that the bulk went to collectors and not just people looking to cash in on them (although judging by the loss that some of these flipped items have been going for recently on ebay maybe people will see that it's not such a good business move....well we can all live in hope  ).

Hopefully happy days for people on here and it sounds like there's still more to come, oh when will it end!

I wouldn't say all the Palitoy's were hitting silly money, I agree some were, but not all in my opinion.

I bagged a 41 back 2-1b for a £200 hammer, granted it's not the most sought after or glamorous or cards and it's a common Palitoy 41 back, but for 200 notes in today's market.....

Congratulations on the Fett :) ..

I was bidding on that. Passed for the same card with some sellotape on it for £120 later in the auction.

Congrats on becoming the newest 2-1b focus collector!

:p

Couldn't justify biffing more than 200 notes on that jawa reseal given I got the rarer transition bubble at half that price at FF.

You got to love those FF deals and I really wanted that Hammerhead reseal but got to the FB party just that bit to late. Never mind, it went to a good home with his cantina cousins! :D

I thought the reseal Jawa was the transition bubble - square r2 type with the card box behind it?

No, it was the half slant bubble one but the footer was behind the figure so maybe looked like the R2 style bubble one.

Ah yes - that would do it!
