Picked this one up earlier in the week - all looks good to me but not sure if the Trilogo Bubble, in great shape, adds any value - will be up for sale shortly
It was my fault for not looking carefully. I bought it out here - saw the damage (and what I thought was edge wear) and also noticed the blacking out at the back. Wasn't expecting a TOC out here but they have gotten all over the world so I guess it shouldn't be a surprise. Will add it to my growing TOC collection instead
Just wanted to throw this out there Iain, but im pretty much convinced that its not a Toni card. here is a scan of a cardback i have owned for 7 years, that has a Tescos pricetag and came with a loose collection that i bought back then. There were around 30-40 cards from various stores this being one of them. ive also put up a scan of a DSC with the blacked out details on the back.
I'm very glad you posted that cardback Lee, I was just speaking to Iain yesterday about this Chewie and I told him not to lump it in the Toni pile just yet...
Like Lee, I've seen several examples of this Chewie (and Vader) with the tall thin bubble over the years and they were all had wear and tear/store stickers etc so this thread was rather interesting to read for me as the figure in question got dismissed rather quickly as a Toni and then everyone just accepted it without really questioning if it could actually be genuine or not
What's the protocol when a "Toni" card and bubble combination is then found with store stickers? Which genuine Palitoy figures has Toni been making his own versions of? I remember the threepio with the print error but I've not followed things of late so I'm not sure where we are at.
(PS: I was also under the impression that the blacked out dates on the cards was a clear indication of genuine Palitoy factory stock?)
