Now we all know that the large head han solo MOC on a palitoy 12 back is uber rare with only a few known to exist and an asking price of thousands, but why would an opened card sell for over a £100?

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/130615442097

Yes, it's a nice card that makes a nice reseal but all han solos both large and small head came on the 12a cardback. The fact that there is a large head han in there now has no relation on whether it originally contained a large head han. Could just have well contained a small head han, which in comparison with the large head han, is as cheap as chips (reltively speaking).

Is this something the numerous bidders have failed to realise?

I watched most of Daren's auctions end & that one had me stumped - $180
But someone also paid $60 for a custom MOC Fett????
The Christmas/New Year silly season is upon us!!

Very true Jason. just a couple of points to mention though. Firstly I think the bubble on the large head maybe just a tad wider than on a small head example, this is based on looking at mine, Gary Smith's and another example I have seen. Also the foot peg on the large head example is a little different. Again I am going by Gary's, my example and another I have seen and since that represents prob 50% of all known examples there is a good chance the variation foot peg is the same on the other 50%. The bend at the top middle part of the foot peg just below the figure's crotch area is a larger more obtuse angle than the small head example which is much more trianglular ie a 45 degree angle.
I understand these points only semi matter because at the end of the day a reseal can contain unoriginal parts ie added elements to make it look more authentic. TBH I haven't even looked at this reseal so don't know if it had the larger bubble, diff foot peg etc lol!

THis is one of those figures that has a rarity value it no longer has. Years ago there were only two known and so it did deserve the attention it got because it is a mian character and an interesting variation.

But every other year or so another turns up. We up to 6 now? Heck, I've even had two, and was offered a third!

That said it is a cool figure. But i do not understand how an opened card would go for that much!! All the individual parts if bought separately would not total anywhere near that much!
