padi

A done abit of scuba diving in Portugal and last year in the Maldives, but not done any proper courses.
It's a pretty cool thing to do though, I just seem to run out of air three times faster than everyone else.

due to the heavy breathing you ****ing perv!

i have done it a couple of times now as well and am going to australia in the summer and my wife mentioned me doing the course so that i can experience the great barrier reef without having to go through all of the beginner **** again

Your missus done the Padi course or does she just leave you to Scuba dive on yer todd?

she hates it mate, cant equalize her ears so just has excruciating pain, i cant hear properly for couple of days afterwards but thats no bad thing!

Never had any real problems when I've done it. Although I've only been down about 30-40 meters.
Shame she can't do it though, it's always nice to have someone there to experience it with you.
Does that mean she goes shopping (maxes out the credit card) while your doing that?

Ahh right, that'll be the one then!
Shows how much attention I was paying when they explained it all.

I attended the first course but shouldn't have, I was seriously ill. managed the first day, which was all the diving and swimming, but then nearly collapsed during the theory, so didn;'t go back for the second day. Was gutted.

Not really felt motivated to do it again. Though i want to.

i was going to, ive dived in the whitsunday islands (barrier reef), aruba and curacao (dutch west indies) and also in turkey... thought about doing the padi course but just not got around to it.......

I've dived quite a bit.
Completed my open water in Thailand about 7 years ago and then completed my
Advance a couple of years later. That then allows you to dive to 30 metres.

I ****ing love it, I love being under the water. I've clocked about 50 dives as me and the wife
travelled for a year. Seen huge Eagle Rays and was lucky enough to see a Whale Shark.

Bollux, you must dive in Oz. We dived the reef off of Cairns and the fish are amazing.

Haven't dived for about 4 years as I had a bad experience on my last dive.
Really strong currents and became exhausted 20 metres down. ****ING SCARY as couldn't regulate my breathing (not to put you off fella!!).

No seriously, can't recommend it enough. Don't like the idea of doing the course in a swimming pool here in the UK, but if get's you qualified in time for Oz do it mate.

cheers Burnsy, done it twice before mate, in Crete and the Maldives and loved it!

that story is pretty scary mate! got any tips to help me equalise my ears better please? tried the old nose pinching one!

u do the basics in a pool adn then two outdoor dives mate

Make sure you equalise a lot was the main tip I got.

The deeper you go and the longer between equalising you leave it, the harder it is to do and more painful.
If you're having trouble or it's hurting go up a few feet and try again.

I also used to tip my head from side to side and wiggle my jaw about.
