One quarter of a million GBP folks!

I'm saving for the non-miniature version!

£250k for this, I'm not surprised... I remember the screen used Tie Fighter from SW that sold at the PCA in 2008 for $350000. Not to mention the screen used X wing that sold a year or two back for £125000k... Serious cash... I'd hate to think what Gus's ROTJ screen used Death Star Prop might sell for if it was ever to get auctioned off. Probably a few million... Star Wars is here to stay.

Didn't buy this but I was at the propstore auction to see some similar items go under the hammer, got a big cheer when the Stormtrooper helmet achieved £65K (not including the 20% fee) and also saw Gus Lopez swoop in and buy a big block of Death Star!

Unfortunately the piece I was after went for double what I feel it was worth, and there were definitely no bargains to be had. Plus the whole affair ground on for hours - they were going alphabetically so took about 5 hours to reach Star Wars at S - it was nice to see some of the props on display beforehand but a wasted day really....

I ummed and arred about going, hoping that maybe a lot of people wouldn't bother going due to them thinking "pfffft, no chance I'm winning anything" and I could get something at a decent price by default. I would have even gone for something like one of the 300 Helmets, just to own something that had actually been on screen. Well, suffice to say I didn't go, basically because I'm skint after a few months of blowing my wedge on a bunch of vintage :D
