My mum used to work in a cinema in canada during the original release of Star Wars Ep. IV A New Hope. When they no longer needed the display of R2D2 went to my mum. I think she has other items I will ask about later, but we are particularly interested to know if this would be worth something to a collector? It has been kept in very good condition for the last 36 years. If anyone could help I'd be grateful. Many thanks :) x

Grant and Todd are going to get very giddy when these pictures go up :D

R2D2 has been found. Not so lifesized as I thought, my bad! but here is a photo of front and back of the display item anyway. Please let me know if you can't see them. :)

Sorry I'm new to this :( I've edited so you should at least be able to click through. I'm not sure how to make them show here

I'm sure thats a Fox Records Display board from 1977 to promote the Star wars sound track, I think they made them in two sizes, yours the hanging one thats printed on both sides, and a smaller one that held records in a bit at the front and would sit on the counter,
as for price I'm sure TFB is not to far of the mark with price, still a nice item.

Nice 8) particularly the Death Star one and my boy would love the R2, it's his focus character :D

Yep...the record store display.

So what else does he have?

Hi guys, thanks for the responses. We also have a press pack somewhere in all the packing, and also an original poster - but it has pin marks in each corner and a small tear. As to whether it has been folded or not I have no idea. I am making my way through unpacking the boxes as time allows. So I will post photos as soon as I can, thanks for your patience!
It's my mum's so I would have to ask her if she wants to sell at the valuation price given.
If she did want to sell, am I to understand we list on ebay then link here?

Any help on that would be would be much appreciated, and thanks for the assistance so far :) x

I also spotted two star wars puzzles but didn't pull them out yet but the boxes looked to be in good condition from what I could see. Will give more info laters :) x

Would a SW Galaxies special edition game (without the CD's, but including all the bits and the patch and the figure, and the art book etc) be of any interest to anyone at all? I know the game is now no longer in existance. Shall I just bin/donate it? Just curious, thanks xx

Great item.

As for how to sell it, if you have interest on here DO NOT list it on ebay. For a start you will save on fee's. Also we have a few that come on here and ask value's then plonk therir stuff straight on ebay even though people on here have shown an interest. Does get a lot of our backs up when that happens.

Looking at the post's in this thread you have at least one person showing good interest in the item. If you dont come to a deal, then by all means put it on ebay.

Check with your mum, if she's willing to sell offer it on here first.

That's great, thanks.. was wondering if it might be the wrong course to take if I offered on ebay, thanks for the clarification :)
So just paypal for payment and post? x

Hi there, yes we still have the items, just knee (neck) deep in boxes at the moment. Will post pictures as soon as we find them, which could be tomorrow. Thanks for hanging in there guys. x

Sorry I should have been more specific, the two images are for the same item, just showing both sides. Are you interested in making an offer on the hanging R2/Deathstar at all? Just offering to you first as you are the first to show interest, thanks :)

Well I'm over the moon. I bought the pre-release book, something I've wanted for a long time, and it's in beautiful condition.

Thanks to Emma and her mum for letting me have it! :)

Cheers
Mark
