Hey fellas,

I'm finally getting around to putting my first 12 set into some sort of display and wanted others opinions on what looks best if I could.

So which looks better? I'm leaning towards either the horizontal frame with the extra three cards to show the 12/20/21 backs or the white border but they do look a little cramped on that one.

Any opinions would be much appreciated.

Cheers Ryan

Horizontal does look good Ryan and I think the white boarder one makes them look a little too squashed together (although the boarder does look good…..maybe a thinner racetrack one would look better though if you could make one to fit?).

One question though is how are you going to attach them to the frame?

Great idea! :D

Thanks Ian, you had to ask that didnt you LOL. Not quite sure at the moment I have a few ideas I need to try out to see which works best. Yeah I'm leaning towards the horizontal one and I reckon you're right with maybe a thinner white border to break up all the black.

I prefer the horizontal frame - although the balance looks odd at the bottom. I'd put the Jawa far left, then the tusken raider, and the 12/20/21 cards off to the right, personally.

Hey Ryan,

Hi mate I like the one top left but maybe with a different coloured boarder? Maybe the Mocs slightly closer but not to look cluttered like the one top right, only my opinion mate what counts is what your happy with, wish them Mocs were mine :)

Top left gets my vote, but I'd move the MOCs around a few times to be sure about layout. Maybe grouping colours of figures or the colours of the card behind each figure to get a rythym

I like the top left as it's a simple display and the not too cramped.

The border on the second one is a nice idea but as already said they look far too cramped.

I do like the idea of having the card backs on display too as it adds an amount of information/detail to it. However it is a little distracting from the actual MOC.

So I think the first is probably the best in terms of visual display.

Bottom one for me. I prefer a busier look rather than a clinical display. I always think the vivid colours on Star Wars cardbacks should be shown off and a good way of doing that is a crowded display. :)

Great idea Ryan

Bottom one for me the way it is set out as it has a natural central focal point ( Stormy) easier on the eye for me.

Very cool 8)

Yeah top left is good. Love the mixture of card types. Hoping to go that way too. Got 8 12 backs, and managed 3 that aren't Kenner.

Thanks everyone for your opinions and advice greatly appreciated. I worked out a way to hold the cards in place using some little clear acrylic hooks which worked an absolute treat. Readily available from hardware stores they are almost made for the job.

Played around with the layouts and I decided to go for just the first 12 without the cardbacks as it just looked a little too busy.

Need to finish off the frame now, get some hinges and perspex on it and it's done ready to hang. Just need to convince my wife it'll look good in the lounge room

Thanks AJ & Weas, yeah it was really between the top left and the bottom one but I opted for a cleaner look in the end. Still like the idea of seeing the back of the cards so I might put a set together in a separate frame.

Just looking at it now leaning against the wall and I decided to do a conservative valuation if they were all sealed MOC's in top condition it's be a $20,000 + collection. I love budget collecting
