One for the Egg Chasers - 2013 British and Irish Lions Chat

Yeah, I think that is a mistake of massive proportions. I get dropping from the starting 15 in favour of the Welsh pairing but not being on the bench is not a call I would make. That said if they win no one will remember it.
To be fair Croft not being on the bench worries me as well, that is a lot of fast running and a match winner missing their. Falato has played OK on tour but Heaslip at 8 with Croft and O'Brian would offer a better back row.
Glad Grey got on the bench though, though he was unlucky last week.

I guess there is only one throw of the dice and he has gone for it. Certainly a string team but the BOD call is massive I just hope it doesn't become that moment that everyone cites for years to come.

But by all accounts at least he did the dropping face to face in private 24 hours before the announcement so whatever the call at least he went about it the way he should, doesn't make BOD feel any better though I'm sure.

To me, dropping BOD is a bit like Stuart Pearce not selecting Beckham. It is an ego thing. You are right Matt, if you are going to change it around then take him out of the team but why not put him on the bench - to me he is a game changing player and by dropping him completely we have just handed impetuous over to the Aussies with that one move

Totally. Tuilagi can be a game changer but has been out of form and injured for most of the tour, that is a big risk putting him on the bench. DOB may not have been cutting the line so much in the test matches but his defence has been big, his distribution as good as any and he is a big game player and leader. We are already down two captains, why chuck out the third...

Well, here we go...
This could be one of the greatest sporting weekends in living memory for the British Isle's.
The Lions going for the test win in Australia, Murray with a shot at Wimbledon if he get through todays game and Hamilton in the mix for German Grand Prix... OR it could be one of the worst...
Reversly the Aussie could have a good weekend with Webber going well in the Redbull practice right now and their team could win the rugby.

You just can't write drama like this, if anyone ever asks why people get so hyped up over sport this weekend is a perfect example... Bring it on.

^ Ha :)

Although the game really did get away from the Aussies today it has been a cracking serise. Only 3 points between the teams in the two games coming into today I don't think anyone would or could have predicted the Lions would open up like that. Great to watch and the Halfpenny break for the North try was sensational.

4 years to live off this for the British, 12 years to think about it for the Aussies.

Well 4 days really as the Ashes start on Wednesday but I don't see much let up for the lads from down under there. Certainly won't be the white wash people are talki g about but England have to be Odds on for that as well...

But for now I am going to spend the rest of the day pottering around in my Lions top and feeling quite happy about it.

Great result, just wish I could have watched it but 5Live did a great job.

Bring on Wednesday for another Ozzy bashing :D
