Yeah, I think that is a mistake of massive proportions. I get dropping from the starting 15 in favour of the Welsh pairing but not being on the bench is not a call I would make. That said if they win no one will remember it.
To be fair Croft not being on the bench worries me as well, that is a lot of fast running and a match winner missing their. Falato has played OK on tour but Heaslip at 8 with Croft and O'Brian would offer a better back row.
Glad Grey got on the bench though, though he was unlucky last week.
I guess there is only one throw of the dice and he has gone for it. Certainly a string team but the BOD call is massive I just hope it doesn't become that moment that everyone cites for years to come.
But by all accounts at least he did the dropping face to face in private 24 hours before the announcement so whatever the call at least he went about it the way he should, doesn't make BOD feel any better though I'm sure.
