Go on! I dare someone to reply 'ok' Go on!!!!!!!!

Whereas over here it's expected! Plus we actually prefer you to swear in your messages.

I think we should make it a rule that if you don't swear at least 3 times a week, your account will be deactivated!

Everything MUST stay ON TOPIC, fun or going off topic are frowned upon.

Whereas over here it's expected! Plus we actually prefer you to swear in your messages.

That guy is a dick. It's the bit at the end that i find unnecessarily. "this will be the only reminder i'm going to make" oh **** off you jizz gargling ©µΩ†.
They're such an arrogant bunch of tossers over there they really are.

Without any rules about posting titles and whatever else they have on a site of that size it would look like **** in a week, to be honest I think people on here give the RS guys a bit of an unfair bashing at times, sure some of the collectors who post there are a bit up their own bums but the mods are just doing a job (for free) on a much larger board than this.

The no swearing thing is because its a board with kids posting (there are a **** load of sections you guys never even visit) so they have their rules about bad language, if you don't like it you can come to smaller forums like this respectable place and swear your heart out :)

Actually Mike might come across a bit harsh but if it was your job to edit everyone's posts daily because they couldn't read the rules 2 posts above their own you would eventually get a bit pissed off by it all as well. The bloke is a top guy and very helpful.

Fair points Joe, especially on the swearing. I just think they could dial in down a little. I've seen Mike jump on threads like that before. It was just a hamless bit of chat - not really causing any harm.

Don't get me wrong I think RS is great but there is a clique of old members that can be a right bunch of w@nkers sometimes. Especially unfriendly atmosphere for new members. When i joined last year, I nearly didn't bother with a second post.

I think you have a fiar point there Joe - but there is a way to deliver these things that does not get up peoples noses. People forget that tone on a computer can not be judged the same way as if it were the spoken word.

I thought that the tone of Mike's message was over the top - just ask people nicely and they often do it

"Guys, this is not a discussion thread. If you'd like to discuss, please take it to PM or start a thread in the discussion section. This will be the only reminder I'm going to make.

That's all i'm talking about Joe, his attitude. No need for it. If it bothers him keeping an eye on posts (which very rarely need policing) then he shouldn't do it. It's not like some major line was being crossed. I could understand an angry mod if it WERE for something like swearing cos they don't like that there and they want to maintain that image of a clean forum and i can understand that so that rule is not my issue. (addition: How did swearing come into this anyway?? Who swore over there??... i swore a bit here  )
I was just venting and i don't mean to suggest that everyone over there is like that as they are not but on more than one occasion o've seen an arrogant or hypocritical comment from an MOD and it gets up my nose. All he had to say was "guys this is a sale thread so no unrelated sale chat please" and that's the end of it. No problems whatsoever. We were in the wrong.
A while ago one of them posted a warning on someone's thread because they were selling customs and they were told to remove their sale yet Mark Poon goes on selling his completely illegal bootlegs without a mention. BULL....****.

The topic here is the trilogo Madine that was sold on RS. The first one that says something about the RS mods again will be banned. I'm not saying this again.

It's not like us to go off topic is it...
It won't happen again Emiel.

... say, has anyone any good movies lately?? Watched True Grit last night. Pretty good but i wasn't keen on the ending...

:p

:p

Liked it too. :) And the ending is a typical John Wayne ending (remember it's a remake of a JW film).

Yeah i know. I have seen the original. I thought this one was a good effort but not the master piece i was hoping for. Maybe i was expecting too much.

So lads, hands up, who would have bought this to flip if they had 4.5k to spare?

I would have bought it and flipped it almost straight away- I reckon there was the ability to double your money on this one.

With an item like this it would open the door to some amazing trades- it really is an A grade item.

Oh, so we're getting back on topic then are we Ed? ...how boring.

OK.
I agree. You could flip it and double your money eeeasliy! Having said that, if i had the 4.5k i would have bought it but i don't think i could have sold it. I would have to have kept it at least for a while. At some point in a year maybe 2 i probably would have succumbed to the temptation and sold it tho. For about 12-15k is my thinking. If only...

Interesting question Ed. To be very honest I would have bought if I had the money but I would definitely have held onto it purely because of the rarity.

I haven't ever bought an item to make a profit from it, mainly because I don't think i'd be any good at it. I've managed to make some money on some SW stuff that i've sold on but only for the reason of getting my money back - I can't save for **** so I choose to invest it in toys :D

I remember buying an Obi-Wan ESB back about 5 years ago for £50 and thinking it was an absolute steal but I bought it because I liked it not because I thought I could make any money from it (I do still have that one)

I wouldn't care what the owner of the Madine did with it as long as it wasn't damaged - good business sense and I'd only be gutted as I have nowhere near that much money!!!
