Why do they let him continue to sell this ****. That is a big box to reporduce and to do just one by hand would take sometime. He must have help.

It seems to be endless what with the store header and backdrop and box for the display stand, where will it end? I can only guess that he has originals of all this stuff to make these reproductions but I'm sure in a few years time someone's going to get caught out buying this stuff that's being passed off as original. Even worse would be someone buying an original and then buying one of these and claiming the repro was what they were sent instead of the original. This is all going to end in tears!

Is it just me or do they look rubbish to everyone else? :?

I think he went all Ray Charles on the color saturation on these. I just do not like his total lack of respect for the hobby nor his claim that this is fan made art everytime someone wants to argue with him. On the FB groups they seem to love him. One more reason for birth control.

Unfortunately, there are people who will buy these. We call them 'rubbish' because we know what they are, but in all fairness they look to be good quality replicas, although the colours look off. Im not defending the guy, but he is marking them. Ill admit i bought some inserts for 4 of my pieces the other week, and its already made them look more stable and they display better. I bought them to help preserve my boxes, and most people know my collection isnt going anywhere. I even have my collection catalogued and something like this is clearly stated in that catalogue.

I do see the appeal of the header cards etc, but some of it is going too far. It is all overpriced IMO for what it is, but as long as there is a market he will make money. Marking them doesnt make what he is doing right, but its a good measure. If this guy is breaking laws doing this, then isnt anyone who makes a high quality repro from Beggarscanyon or the like doing the same thing.

It isnt going away fellas. I know that most here are educated in whats real and what isnt, but if people jump in head first and get duped then they should educate themselves more and will get taught very expensive lessons. This practice could have a huge impact on online buying aswell (inc ebay) as people ill want to collect in person much more to verify said items.

Am totally against this

However apparently the word reproduction has been stamped outside and inside the box :?

Roll over and play dead.

:) im assuming that was meant for me :)

If so, i aint rolling over. I dont support things like this, but ive been around long enough to know whats what. I bought some inserts from this guy-so what?? As i said they aint going anywhere. With regards to the actual printed reproductions they are not good for the hobby, but reporting them continually will do nothing. There are probably hundreds already circulating or in collections and that figure will only grow. As there are people who have deep pockets that can buy such pieces, there are always people who want the aesthetic value these could give without going bankrupt. Its a two way street, and we have to take the rough with the smooth. From what i understand the guy has a large following, and that will only get bigger.

People will think of me as an asshole by the way i speak or the way i am, but i say it as i see it. Im not a follower and dont follow what other people say, i feel many do that just to seek acceptance or that they are in the 'cool' gang.

I hope the guys can speak on the next podcast about this, as it would make for an interesting discussion. Hopefully people will understand what im trying to say here.

At the end of the day, people should be more worried about 3d printers-that will seriously be a concern in every area of collecting.

I don't mind the inserts to support the original boxes, it's either that or use some other bit of cardboard which won't work as well.

We spoke about this on the last podcast. I don't have issues with the inserts. They are very clearly marked and I understand they serve a purpose.

I wouldn't have a problem with the boxes if they were marked a LOT better.
