Hi There,

I wonder if anyone can help and give me some advice, my mum and dad have recently moved from our family home that we grew up in and while we were clearing out the loft I found my old star wars toys and think I have come across something very rare, I have in mint condition a double telescopic obi wan Kenobi figure I have seen on the internet that there are only a handful of these around, I just wanted to know if anyone knew any information on this or where I can find out if it is that rare.

Brownie its either a single telescoping saber or its a fake.

Emiel you beat me to it!

Hi There,

the one that I have looks like the 1 on the right, but it has his collar up like the 1 on the left, also the figure has 1977 stamped on him as well.

If this is true you have a small fortune on your hands. People will pay handsomely for this as long as they know it's real.

To make sure people know its real you should have it graded and verified by AFA. Without that I doubt you will find any buyers.

What condition is the saber in? Can you describe the colour- is it bright blue, faded, green etc?! Does the thinner part of the saber completely come out of the outer part?
What is the history of this item? If you bought it in 1977 yourslef, and no one has got to it since you bought it then you are sat on thousands. Alternatively its a repro and worth £2.
Post some pictures!

Hi there,

The light saber is like a light blue and is a bit bent at the top, the figure its self is in mint condition all the legs and arms are still stiff and the cape is as new, I got this when I was a boy for a birthday or Christmas, I can assure you the only person that has been up in that loft is my dad and then myself who took the few boxes of toys back to my home.

Post some detailed pictures! As Capetown has already said you would be lucky to get anyone to buy it off you unless it is authenticated by UKG or AFA. And then they wont give you what its worth!!

I will post some detailed pictures for you tonight, when I get it authenticated why wouldnt someone give me what its worth? and what do you think it is worth?

When you have had it graded and educate yourself you will certainly get what it's worth. Also you could put it up for auction on ebay, so you will get the market price. What it's worth will also depend on the grade it is given by AFA.

The biggest bearing on price is if it is a single or double telescoping saber

If its real its worth in excess of £10.....

well thank you for both your help you have been great! I can 100% say that my ben kenobi is reall and the light sabre is 100% a double telescoping saber I have just been on a few other sites and seen the difference, I am really excited now on what I have found and can't wait to get it authenticated!

are there any other figures or craft I should keep my eye out for as I do have loads of items and other loose wepons.

Googling "double telescoping ben" should give you an idea of it's rarity. Maybe a couple of dozen examples are known to exist. These hardly ever come up for sale. Price wise, who knows, but 4 figures would not be unexpected. Definitely get it AFA graded first if you think it's genuine and sell through an ebay account with decent feedback if you go the ebay route. And publicise the auction. Good luck!

Well, there's the double telescoping Darth Vader, but apart from that no figure will come close in value to that Ben.

I have the vader & luke figuer again same age but not in as good condition as my Ben, i think that they were both my favourites and got alot more ware and tear! I also have in good condition a large boba fett about 12" high, and have a smaller boba fett complete with his gun.

Pictures required!!! If you have all three then you are either very lucky or mis informed!

Price wise for AFA Graded DT figures
Luke £400-600
Vader £1500-2500
Ben £4000 plus

Do you have a firing rocket Boba Fett too?!?!
