I just won an auction on Ebay from the US for three nice ESB back reseals. If you ask me the seller has been really unlucky in that i'm the only bidder and have won them for a steal despite my highest bid being considerably more than the end price.

The auction ended today at 4am UK time. I've contacted the seller asking for a combined postage total (which they agreed to before i bid). As yet I've had no reply.

I did email the seller previous to bidding offering to buy all three for an agreed amount. This was before there were any bids, and presumably at that time the seller had no watchers either. The seller turned my offer down as is his right.

I know people frown on these sort of offers but as far as i'm aware it isn't against Ebay rules for a buyer to make an offer. However, i'm now wondering if the seller is gutted enough to gazump me on the sale. Time will tell i guess. Nervous though because they are three great card backs 8)

I take it that i can leave negative feedback as a buyer if the guy doesn't get back to me? Because i'm waiting for an invoice for combined postage (which the seller says to request for multiple sales) i won't end up paying until they reply - can i still leave feedback if i don't pay?

It might all be ok and he's just busy or something ... :?

I would give him a little while as its the weekend.

I'm sure it will be fine.

Bram

Yeah, I would give it little longer - with so many scammers on eBay I think the natural reaction is to question anything that doesn't look or feel right but if you have already communicated with the guy then hopefully he should do the right thing

Man up... :)

Kidding.

I'm pretty similar when its something I really wanted that went for so cheap.... Especially when the combined postage option is a little sketchy. I worry they'll just bump up the postage costs to make some dollar.

Give him till Monday!

Good advice guys. It's just one of those 'i've got a bad feeling about this' situations. Couldn't believe i won the auction ...all THREE auctions!

I'll give them until Monday 8) ...... :?

Ha ha the banana skin will be the clincher I reckon

I've bought around 10 items on ebay lately, and while most of them were really quick, on 2 I had to wait around 5 days after paying, no comms no feedback, before they were marked as sent. I was't too bothered as they weren't be-all end-all items for me and I could have reversed the transaction. Give it a bit longer.

They have actually contacted me today. The postage has been ramped up a bit but it was always going to be pricey coming from the US. I don't mind paying for cover on my parcels, just hope they don't turn up in a jiffy bag  The seller just appears to be painfully slow with comms. Still haven't been able to pay yet though :?

Glad to hear you've had some contact. As others have mentioned, the general rule of thumb with eBay is to win the auction & then sweat like hell until the items are paid for, delivered, & positive feedback is exchanged. I swear eBay never used to be so hard...

I have paid ...now the wait :?

The person selling these card backs seems ok, just busy working apparently. Luckily for me, even if they don't turn up, i've only spent £50 ...yes, £50 on three nice cardbacks mailed with tracking from the US  You can guess how little i paid for the cards :D I shall refrain from bragging further until they arrive..

1k worth of figs  crumbs. I bet you're sweating more than Stuart Hall in the shower block  I'm bricking it over three reseals! Good luck

Well done Barry  I dont know why some folk dont go for re-seals , they can look great and often the figures are mint, I like them :D
