I have been calling for United to sign Sanchez for years.

Would love to see us sign Devock Origi of Belgium and Lile who Liverpool are also seriously interested in :)

What's the betting that after Suarez signs his ban gets reduced?

Liverpool are going to get stiffed on the deal. Should be £80 no less and whoever they want to give us.

I reckon his most recent misdemeanours effect the price negatively as he is now a risky signing which will play into Barca's hand. Cant see him going for more than £60m plus a player of Sanchez quality. Yes he is a quality player but one that comes with a big bad reputation

Apparently Barca wanted him to apologise, he has done that. I wouldn't be at all surprised if his ban gets reduced, but either way we need to get rid. This is the second time he has done this in Liverpool's employment, he is too high risk to keep around now.

From what I've heard Liverpool have told Barca they don't think the ban impacts on his value at all. From a certain point of view I guess they have a point. He is missing 2 months of the season (ignore the banned from training rubbish the club will hire a personal fitness trainer and he will train alone and still be reasonably match sharp.) Two months is a run of the mill time frame to miss for any number of injuries. If you sign someone who has a hamstring tweak, you don't discount his value by 20%.
Saying that I can see Barca saying it's not the ban as such but his penchant for biting people that diminishes his value. Given his buy out clause is somewhere around £80 million, I expect Pool will play hard ball. In the end I expect a deal to be done that includes either Sanchez or Pedro, assuming they can be persuaded to move to Anfield.
The valuation figure for Sanchez/Pedro will allow Barca to claim they paid less than £80 million whilst simultaneously Liverpool can claim the deal was worth more than £80 million.

I've heard Sanchez is going to decline the move to Anfield and hold out for a switch to the Emirates. Can anyone explain that to me!?
I'm not sitting here thinking 'Liverpool are amazing, Arsenal are shite.' It's more a case of two clubs who can most probably offer broadly similar wage packages, both have CL footy, and both actually try and play football (I'm looking at you Mourinho). So why reject one in favour of the other? It could well be classic summer season BS, but I just didn't quite see the logic. Does Arsenal's more recent history in the CL out weigh the fact they came fourth and Pool (fluked) second? Or is it just that London is nicer than Liverpool?

You mean that is preferable to lovely Liverpool where he knows his house will be ransacked every time he plays an away game in the CL!?

As a liverpool fan I glad when they sell him ****ing liability. We missed out on league last season was it because he missed first so many matches not find out this season as he missing some again get another top striker with 70 mil who will play a full season ...or get barkley from everton with it .

plus ajax take 5% of the fee too, sources say we sell for £75 million.

if he goes liverpool lose one of the best strikers in the world, it makes the club less attractive as there is literally no other world class players at the club, but i do believe rogers is building a very strong foundation.

if they spend this money wisely we could have a great season, nobody went in for suarez when we did and 3 years later he has got us back into the CL and made 50 million profit on him.

Alternatively if we spunk it all over the shop like Spurs did....................

Rickie Lambert, Adam Lallana, Emre Can, Origi, and Lazar Markovic.

I havent even heard of the last three.
Which doesn't mean the aren't good players, but just worries me that Pool are selling their one world class asset and paying over the odds (bar Lambert) for players who may well come good, but could also become the new Borini, Cheyrou, Assidi, Aquilani, Carroll, Downing, Konchetsky, etc.

The squad was paper thin and needed strengthened without doubt, but I always prefer when the club signs players who at least know the PL and don't need six months to a year to bed in. I guess time will tell.

Derrock Origi has looked class for Belgium at this WC. Hes only 19 and looks to have real potential 8)

Agreed, BUT from what I've heard he is very very raw. It has the potential to be a brilliant piece of business, it also has the potential to be a complete waste of £10 million quid.

Yer boy Can, has had one good season in Germany and we are jumping in and paying top dollar for him. We did the same last year with someone who had had one good season in Spain and look how that turned out.

PS, we paid £7.5 million for a guy who set up the goal that effectively ended our title challenge.

So can Suarez play FIFA 14 while banned or does that come under footballing activities
