saw these in toys r us today at first i got all excited until i saw modern figs in them. If no one has seen them they are vitage fronts with modern figs in on back it says when the card back was first released.
It made me think,if they released vintage carded figs where the only difference was the date stamp on back would you buy em .think i would for lad but i have to say toys today are way over priced .these were 8.99 so for full collection its gonna be around a grand.
It was cool seeing them all on shelves again though

They are modern....so no..would not buy them and yes they are way overpriced....they also fall apart easily when actually played with.

I like them....but ONLY because of the way they have "ressurected" the original packaging...in my opinion it was THE best in the 30 year history of star wars figures...original is best!!!... will probably buy a few cos it will be like buying the vintage figurews all over again...imagine buying a 2010 "cloud car pilot" and trying to remember where you were when you bought your vintage "cloud car pilot" in EXACTLY the same packaging!!!

I definitely wouldn't. I think the one off Boba Fett was a nice idea as an homage but generally the reproduction of the vintage style is not for me, i think it cheapens the true vintage stuff.
I've been worrying that they would try to cash in like this ever since the Fett came out. I really hope they don't.

I really like the retro style packaging but for Vader, Hasbro really didn't change much. (same "ESB" card, just with the
"Free Boba" offer).
The only thing they really did change up were the variations of the card. So far, I've been able to find 6 packaging
variants of just Vader. Personally, I like tracking these types of things down, but I really don't pay a premium for them.

I was in the very toy shop that i used to buy my figures in when i was a kid the other day.
This was after a bout 20 years absence and it hasnt changed a bit,,,, then i saw on the old school hangers "vintage" looking cardbacks, man it took me back i could smell 1984.
Really it actually zoned me out for 10 mins.

Did i buy any,,,, did I F*#k.

Although the snowspeeder looked cool, but i could buy a vintage one for the price.
cool retro store though.
