But $1620-1820 is WELL out most poeples budget

They're great but I can't imagine too many people able to pay those kind of prices will want a novelty watch over a Rolex.

Real vintage Seikos can fetch premium prices. They are one of if not the most collectable 'vintage' watches. I have been after one of the M516 watches that was featured in Ghostbusters for a while now. Earlier this year i bid £250 for one and was nowhere near the finishing price.
Having said that, these do nothing for me. Looks like the sort of thing you find in the Argos catalogue next to the Hello Kitty watches.

I used to collect Vintage Seiko's and you are correct Pete. They command a nice value. I love the looks of these watches, but I agree they are novel and not daily wearers....so It would take someone with nothing better to do with the cash.
