Love the look of these! Sleeker, more modern, yet still most definitely Imperial Stormtroopers 8)

I can go with that but why mess with perfection. Interested to see what the rest of armour looks like. I'm guessing its white.

I really like the design, like so many things for Ep 7 that have come out, these have a strong Joe Johnson / Ralph McQuarrie feel to them

Just what we didnt want to happen. Looks like they are taking a step back to the PT with this new look :(

Why mess with something that is already universally loved anyway??

I don't think they look too bad. They definitely look different, but still have the McQuarrie feel to them. The original troopers were perfect, but i'm sure they wanted a "fresh" look for the new movies.

The way I've looked at the design with each Star Wars film is that it always moves on. With the original trilogy there were the regular Stormtroopers throughout the series but each new film (ep 5-6), had a new updated version that fitted in with the environment. You also see a little of this with the last trilogy (ep 1-3), with the battle droids popping up and new designs being added from film to film. If this new trilogy is set about the same distance as Phantom menace is to A New Hope then it makes sense to me to move things on. I know the Empire were so say crushed at the end of Jedi but an army of that size isn't going to just disappear over night and it'll be interesting to see what logic they've come up with for the new ones.

Why dont they keep the original Stormtrooper design????

1. This isnt Star Wars, this is DISNEY Star Wars
2. Its set 30 years in the future
3. TOY SALES

If anyone of you here is expecting to walk into the cinema next December and have exactly the same experience that you did when you first saw Star Wars 35+ years ago you are going to be sorely dissapointed. This is Star Wars for a new generation with nods to the originals to keep us mums and dads interested. Disney are not making this film for me and you. They are making it for a new generation of Star Wars fans. And seeing as the choice is this or Star Wars dies, I'm taking it for what it is and going to enjoy it through the eyes of my kid and my inner kid.

I think it looks good, i'm trying hard to keep spoiler free but my inner ten year old says ''nuts to that click the link,'' lol

Took the words out of my mouth. I will enjoy the new film for sure, it's a new Star Wars film after all. :D

For anyone interested in spoilers some more came out today. Pictures of 2 possible Han Solo costumes and info on the Villains of sequel trilogy.

From that picture it is quite difficult to tell - only a side on view. Looks okay and I'm all for moving forward with a slight modern twist to the original Stormtrooper guise.

Remember no-one bat an eye-lid when the Stormtroopers were first seen in the Empire Strikes Back in their Imperial Hoth outfit - totally different helmet and costume from the original.

Just doesn't look like part of the SW galaxy to me. When I look at it I get more of a Tron legacy vibe from it.

Yeah I was thinking the same myself. It kinda reminds me of something else, just can't remember exactly what :x
