Saw a joblot of parts on facebook. There were no close ups of the parts just 1 picture of the parts with prices . I assumed the part was complete. on the day of posting the seller messaged me saying ive just noticed this part has a bit missing as he saw one listed posted on fb that morning and it looked different he posted it anyway.... :? Guy said i could return it if i wasnt happy. I wouldnt of sent if it were me.

anyway in summary never assume on pictures and ask for a close up. Lesson learned!

Solid piece of advice... all too often we fall for the "too good to be true," especially MOC's, I never brought any with pictures of it only taken inside a star case, but the description calming it to be excellent.

Sales posts are way too vague and photos too **** on Facebook. I've bought a couple of Mocs with good info and photos but generally I don't like Facebook sales. Sellers never describe the condition in enough detail.

Hell, this applies to Vectis auctions too!

Best bet here is to assume everything is about C8 - that way you can be pleasantly surprised but also not massively let down. Its like ebay in 1998 but with 1000% inflation ;)

I had to sell a few figures a few months ago due to a financial need, and I always try and describe everything in detail. Better to lose a sale by making it appear worse than it looks, than to get someone's hope up and have them disappointed.

I had more than one person say I had "too much detail" and that I'd struggle to sell them because of it. :?

One was from a well respected collector who posts all over the place frequently too.....

It seems the attention deficit nature of Facebook applies to selling as well, unfortunately. People are actually too lazy to read a full description.

I just don't get why anyone would sell a MOC without photographing it from all angles. Ebayers can do it and it's considered by many to be to be a wretched hive.

Knowing how fast FB works, I get into a mild panic when I see a a listing like '48 back Han Hoth £50' and there's no mention of what's wrong with it. Then get told a bit later 'oh the bubble is cracked - the figure can be removed. But it hasn't'.

F'sakes.
