Here is my boxed collection so far. Everything here is near mint with inserts, instructions unused decal sheets and catelogues. The only things I now want are a boxed Vader tie fighter and the boxed sandcrawler. I also need the 12 inch han and Leia to complete my 12 inch figures. :)
Took me years to get my collection to this standard and havent bought anything for a while now. I have all the figures ever released plus loads of extras all complete with only a handfull of repro weapons. At the last count I had over 300 figures in total, but these are stored in cases, so dont have any pics just yet.

All this is now wrapped in bubble wrap and stored in my wardrobe as I dont have the room to keep it on display :( I have come close to selling on more than one occasion, but have never been able to bring myself to do it.
I would like to get it AFA graded, but dont know much about the process. Also, I wondered if once it has been graded, does the item become sealed in the display case so you cant get it out again???
Willl post up pics of my figures soon.
All the best folks, Jonathan xx :)

That's a beautiful collection of boxed items Jonathan. I'm really impressed! I especially like the Kenner ESB AT-AT and the Palitoy Imperial Troop transporter (is this unused with unapplied decals too?) as I have been looking for those items for a while!

Great to see another MIB collector join the boards. 8)

As to sending them to AFA: don't. The cases will indeed be sealed and you will never be able to touch your stuff again unless you break them out. It's definitely not worth the small perceived extra value in my opinion. If you ever decide to sell, you will have no trouble doing so, even without the AFA label.

Thanks guys. Yep troop transporter has unused decals, instructions, inserts and catelogue. Its possible that the decal sheet is repro. I have had it about 6 years and the electrics still work to :) .
I think one of the reasons, I havent bought too much over the last four years is the repro concern, I wouldnt get into carded figures for this reason and also have seen repro inserts, decals ect. I began to worry if guys were doing repro box's as well??
Most of my stuff has been bought from the Norwich star wars club and the bay (from sellers with 100%)
never been to a show or fair :(

If the rest of the contents are unused and clean it would highly surprise me if the decal sheet is repro. Also, a repro decal sheet can usually be easily spotted as it won't have the pre-cut decals.

You've come to the right place as this forum is full of like minded and very knowledgeable people who will gladly help you if you're having problem discerning real from fake. There's also generally some great deals to be made in our for sale section with people who are trustworthy. :) I'd say look around a bit, do a read through the threads and get to know people. Trust me, you'll love it here.

Cheers mate,
Just seen your boxed collection, and have to say it blows any other collection Iv'e seen right out of the water :)
each item looks as mint as can be, must have taken you a long time and cost you a fair bit.
Anything in particular you are now after? cant see much missing.

Thanks. :)

Still some Palitoy vehicles I'm after, like the Troop Transporter for instance. Plus there's a lot of playsets I don't have yet and I'm going to try to collect every mini rig box variant out there. But those are all long time goals.

Looking forward to seeing your loose stuff. That Blue Snag in the picture looks mint!

Hi mate

Great looking collection - and I agree, don't waste the time and effort getting it AFA graded.

Just a quick question - this Norwich Star Wars Club - does it still exisit ?

Cheers
Iain

Hi. Last time I spoke to Richard, one of the norwich starwars runners, the club was still going, though I havent been for years. Last time I was there, it was mainly new stuff and very little vintage.
I still have his no, so will give him a ring if you want me to find out.
I know that a few of them had some costumes and used to do some minor functions. :)
The blue snag has some wear on his boots, but other than that it is in great nic. No other paint loss and limbs all stiff. I did pay 80 quid for him though, back when I had more money than sense

Cheers mate

I am based in Norwich at the moment but don't know it taht well - be interested in seeing some other displays in the area.

I know what you mean. I was quite obsessive about it a few years back, but have calmed down a bit now :D . You have to learn patience as sooner or later the thing you are after will turn up and be in the right condition and for the right cash, but it is hard at the begining, when there is so much of it to collect.
An important lesson I learned early on was that its better to have 1 mint item as opposed to 4 or 5 shabby items, especially if its for dispay.
Any one give me a rough idea on what a mib vaders tie might go for these days. I had one once before but the box was a bit shabby, so let it go.
Anyone else got one of these r2d2 interactive droids?? I have not managed to get it to respond to all the comands yet :?
Thanks for the comments and advice so far. All the best, Jonathan.

Great stuff Threaders - they do look in fantastic condition

Palitoy DV TIEs go for £60-£90 depending on box condition, and assuming that inserts and instructions are included

With decals unapplied a bit more I think, maybe in the range of £120 with a good box.
