Well, been posting for a while now so it's time to show off what I've got. We start with my childhood figures, all bought and played with by myself between 1978 and 1986, then stored in my parents attic from 1987 to 2005. All weapons and accessories original. (Sorry for the big pics, forgot to resize).
12 backs, part 1:

12 backs, part 2:

And yes, he's real. I did a playground swap for my spare cloth cape Jawa. I like to think the other kid is kicking himself now. (No-one liked him anyway).

20 backs. Duplicates were given to me by a friend.

Empire first release part 1, odd mix of Palitoy and Kenner cards:

Empire first release part 2, obviously I didn't get Rebel soldier till later:

Empire second wave, Dengar was a mailaway hence no cardback:

Empire third wave, again, didn't get Zuckuss till later:

Last 17/POTF, whatever you want to call them, part 1:

Last 17 part 2, you'll notice no Lando general, Warok or Barada. I was almost 18 by now and felt too old for toys, so I never bought them. Luke Stormtrooper I found in the street.

A few extra Stormies. You can never have too many, right?

Finally, my recent additions, all picked up over the last year, all graded by UKG. Not aiming for a complete run, just the ones that hold the most nostalgia to me. Just want Hammerhead, Snaggletooth and Threepio then I'm happy. Anyway, that's all, hope you enjoyed.

This is one of the best limelights I have seen, amazing childhood collection! I can't believe how complete your collection as a kid was..usually people have half the figures and a couple of cards but not that many ALL with cards!

VCJ you traded at school is awesome too. Glad I looked at your thread!

Excellent stuff.....great collection there. Some really cool cards and figures. All the better that it's your original childhood collection. Thanks for sharing :D

Super collection there made even better by the fact they are your childhood toys and cards, you clever clever boy :D

Got to echo this really... 8)

That childhood collection is amazing, did you ever play with them

Thanks for posting, the new additions are top drawer but its those childhood figures and cards that make this limelight for me.

Can only echo what everyone else has said.

Awesome looking cards and figures - it is interesting to note how some Kenner cards made it over here as early as 1980.

Finding a Luke Stormie in the street is amazing (along with the luck Jawa trade!)

Fishtalk, that childhood collection is the nuts! I held onto all my childhood figures, but only a few cardbacks. That is amazing, well done! I'm going to have another look at them all.

Slider: Kenner cards made it over to the UK for the first 12 figures, i think geography may play a part. In the Midlands Goldie Toys sold Palitoy and Kenner. In the ESB range my Yoda is also a Kenner, same as Fishtalks. I remember Yoda was hard to get hold of, so they probably just got a load of Kenner carded ones over from the US.

Thanks everyone for the glowing feedback, I'm overwhelmed! I wish I could take all the credit for being so forward thinking, but the truth is they nearly went to the rubbish tip. When my older brother moved out in 1987 I moved into his bigger bedroom, throwing out a lot of stuff in the process. 3 bin bags full of Star Wars stuff and Airfix models went to the tip.
And I had every playset, vehicle, guns, lightsaber and the diecast ships. Mum was furious I was throwing everything away, and insited I "keep your little men" adding that I'd be glad I did one day. So I packed them all in my old bright orange school swimming bag with weapons and cardbacks and into the attic they went.
And to my mums credit, she's never said "I told you so".

Such a fantastic collection to see! :D It also shows that theses VCJ's made it over here although it's a shame your 12 back Jawa card wasn't from it as it would be even more proof of the Palitoy VCJ being sold in stores over here.

One thing I've been trying to look at are the coo stamps that ended up on those first 20 figures released on Palitoy cards so if you get a chance it would be great to see some close up pictures of the coo stamp from the the first 20? I know the figures were sent to the UK to be packaged here and not originally produced here but I think it would be of interest for a few guys on here to know if there was a pattern to what we were sent.

You're a lucky man to still have your old collection!

Thanks Ian, I'll see what I can do. (I live in a slightly dodgy area so for now am keeping my figures safe at my parents). I can help with the vinyl Jawa though, I was going to sell him a few years ago and photographed the COO because I knew there would be lots of questions. (This was back when vinyl Jawas were unconfirmed as being sold over here, who would of believed the old found a vcj in an English attic story?)
Anyway, here's the pic:

Thanks for showing the Jawa Coo, great photo and it'll be great to see the other first 20 if/when you get the chance (smart move to keep those valuables away from any thieving gits!)

On another note it's interesting to see the amount of the first 10 released on 30 backs that you have on Kenner card backs. I don't remember seeing the Kenner logo growing up but I also had an orange snake Yoda in my collection which must have come from a Kenner card as Palitoy only had the brown snake version available until the Tri Logo's (think that's right). For me it shows another bit of history that we were shipped certain figures here in the UK from the US and might explain why there are less Palitoy 30 backs of certain characters. Also that's a great Boba Fett card back you have there and I've noticed that a fair few of the figures that came off of the 30 back have a similar fading to the arms and legs.

Once again I say a great collection and I look forward to seeing some other pictures when you get the chance. :D
