5 really good albums by singer songwriters

Elliot Smith - Either Or - Very good, killed himself a few years ago stabbed himself in the heart. This is his best album
Ryan (not Bryan) Adams - Love is Hell
Devendra Banhart - Cripple Crow
Sufjan Stevens - Illinois
José González - Veneer (did that song on the Sony advert with the millions of colour balls in the street)

There you go :D

Already got all the Elliot Smith albums, love his voice.
Got the Gonzalez album too, very nice and laidback.
Not a huge fan of Ryan Adams.

Will try the others though...

And Jay....of course I have OK Computer I was a student once you know!

2stripes XO is a great elliot smith album too

for another singer-songwriter check out Pete Murray, 2 great albums, Feeler and See the Sun

No probs - I'd recommend Cripple Crow definitely, was on my mp3 player for a good few weeks.

I'll admit Ryan Adams gets a bit too Bruce Springstein at times!

I agree mate, I dont care what music you listen to as long as you love it!

I love how music can make change your emotions though, even if its only one small part of a song or one song line, be it making you smile or cry or whatever...amazing

I'm still a bit of a music nazi I'll admit - I'm passionate about what I love and passionate about what I don't like too! I'm even worse with Films.

Right with you all about Coldplay, it's suicide music, nearly as bad as Portishead.

OK Computer is pretty good, a few really really good songs on it, but a few that are just ****.

Have to admit It been years since I heard anything by Portishead, can't even remember what they were like, I just know it wasn't happy clappy!
As for OK, it's mainly the singles I like, Karma police, Lucky, No surprises etc

Sour times was a great tune and Glory Box, Tricky did a version of it too and, the whole bristol trip hop scene was great, seeing Massive Attack live would still be in my top 3 live acts.

The Orb - UFOrb and Nightmares on Wax, Air etc all good to chill out too.
