I bought one off ebay recently that multi region and also plays AVI/Dvix. Only cost about 12 quid. Very useful if you download films in avi format. They're normally only 700MB in size so you can put 5 or 6 films on a blank dvd as a data file and it will play them on your telly, good quality too if its a dvd rip. Best 12 quid I ever spent!

pabsdirect - I just had a look but they don't have any of my model (packard bell) for sale. There was 7 quid postage too but still, for less than Ã'£20 I thought it was a steal.

When it arrived the casing had moved a little, I put a dvd in it thought about it and opened the tray again and it was missing the dvd! had to get the case off get the dvd and screw it back on properly and then it worked

Only problem is it wont recognise sub files which is a bitch as I watch a lot of foreign films. Still a very useful buy.

Just forked out on an SLR digital camera, going to take some shots of my flegling collection pretty soon!

Allmost all dvd players are now multiregion. Even the big names are finally selling multi region players. And FINALLY most dvd players now play xvid and dvd files. :D :D :D :D

bacmk in 1999 a brough a chipped-multi region panasonic dvd player from tottenham court road and it cost a bomb as i want to play all those cool horor films on region 1 that had just come out like i still know what you did last summer and urban legend that i brought from a toy fair, the chip that was in it broke after a few months and hads to take it back to get repaired

about two years later it messed up again and would only pla the region 1 disks so i decided to buy a **** little alba player from a second hand shop just to play the british disks on and when i got it home i put in a region 1 disk on the off chance and it worked and had no problems with the cheaop as **** alba one in so many years now

got a phillips and a wharfdale. they are both multi, and i think the code for the phillips was 0123  why dont they just sell them as multi as its so easy to change them anyway
