Just getting to the point where I was thinking I was getting to know where its at with the baggies, well in terms of US issued ones at least, then I get this curve ball which has thrown my head in to total disarray, nothing new there though

So with no further a do here is the curve ball -

2 identical multi-packs both from places that I know they came to as sealed examples, one with the same baggies as can be found on Andys multi-pack thread on RS -

http://forum.rebelscum.com/t1004691/#post17038387

The other with 2 ESB-h baggies, the one with the ESB-h baggies came from a friend in the states & it was still partially sealed when he got it, but the tape popped on it, so I know both are legit.

If the same can be said for many other multi-packs this would seriously complicate matters in terms of trying to ascertain where certain baggies originated & as to which baggie belong to which packs & throw some more light on to why there are so many various baggie types floating around out there, so good news & bad news all in one go, I now have the task of trying to catalogue every U graded multi-pack I can find to cross reference & see if this is a one off (doubtful IMHO though).

May be of little interest to others but I wanted to share my findings.

Has anyone else come across this?

Hey Frank, it's always hard to be 100% sure of the contents of multipacks. I know even AFA and UKG aren't positive on every single one and which combination of baggies is correct.

When I bought my 7 pack and 3 pack, I bought the boxes empty and by checking out various different pictures of opened ones on the net I got a good idea of what I was looking for (ESB-H erg as opposed to a Taiwan for example)

During that time I ran into an unfortunate ebay auction where the seller had found a bunch of multipacks at an auction house which were sealed, they had then FILMED and taken pictures of them opening the contents in order to display it for sale on ebay lol - so I got my baggie "proof" as it were.

While I was on the hunt I noticed UKG graded and cased a 7 pack (identical to the one I was completing) with a mixture of baggie types, even Palitoy ones had snuck in for some reason and the ERG was a Taiwan baggie. Personally I felt that it was wrong of them to grade it without researching the correct bag types (Palitoy baggies in a US multipack never happened...but I might forgive a different US style) but maybe I am just a purist :p

I think the majority of the time multipacks will repeat the bag type pattern with regard to their contents however that doesn't mean there will never be a curveball like the one you have above and I like to keep an open mind with stuff like this, after all those bag types probably overlapped at factories when they were being put into mailer boxes so its completely plausible.

Ultimately though and probably the most unfortunate thing with opened examples is, you (regardless of the seller and their story) can never be sure its not just been pieced together to be complete in order to sell it again.

Andy R would no doubt give you a definite answer on variant baggies within multipacks, he is a bit of a maestro after all :)

You saw what happened to Greedo didn't you? It pays to be prepared

nothing purist about that Joe & TBH I am a little shocked that UKG did not pick up on the fact as one of the guys is a real baggie fan who works there, palitoy baggies were never available in the multi-packs & as such should never be graded with one IMO, so I am will you 100% on that m8.

I am pretty sure these were both legitimate TBH though as one is the same as Andy R's & the other came from a guy that got several packs which all came my way, one being sealed & this one having come sealed but the tape was partially split but not fully on arrival, the guy picked it up from the sides & the tape popped open on so doing, his thread about buying them is on TIG & TBH I trust his word on this as we discussed these packs long b4 we spoke about sales & he posted photos over on TIG when he first got them, so little to gain in replacing the baggies IMO & he was a suprised when I told him about this the other day, plus the fact that the ESB-h baggies are dead mint & I am sure you know ESB-h baggies do not wear well & are almost always faded/not crystal clear like these ones.

Though I hear what your saying loud & clear m8 as you see plenty for sale with the wrong baggies & even palitoy baggies.

I would assume that its as you said - they were simply being boxed up at a factory & when new stock came in the baggie type was not even considered, just which figure was to go with the pack, but I will shoot Andy a pm & see what he thinks as well as I need to speak to him about another matter any way.

Yeah sqiddys mum told him - son, be prepared, its a bad ass universe out there.

The weapons error was a nice little bonus
