Moved to for sale thread

Holy sh*t!!!

The last Chewbacca I can find from ebay was an AFA 75 and went for 3660 back in April 2014.

The one before that which looks to be the same condition as yours went for 5500 in November 2012. There hadn't been one up for sale for a very long time which people thought was the reason it went so high but it was also the beginning of prices for Palitoy going up.

As for Luke I can't seem to find any ebay records for these although I've seen people trying to get between 3.5 & 7k for them. Also I know these have been auctioned so someone will know the rate but I think one went recently in worse condition for around 5k.

Either way if they're in mint condition I'm sure there's a buyer out there who's been waiting years for these to come along. remember there's this Palitoy auction of a box of 48 coming up soon so that might effect things.

If I was to guess I'd say 4.5k for Chewie and 6-6.5k for Luke.

Are they yours or are you looking for a price to make an offer?

Hi they are mine.
I have had them for a very long time but feel this may be the right time to sell.
They are both in mint condition.
I know it's difficult to put a price on them because they come up so rarely especially in this condition.

And very nice they are to :D

I'm still going to stand by estimate for now and as I mentioned those two up and coming Palitoy auctions could play a part in the price. If they were graded then the price would possibly jump up as people would know what they're buying, but with items like these the sort of people interested in them would have a very good idea as to the quality of once they've looked over several good pictures of them.
It might be a good idea to gamble and put them up for sale before these auctions come to light as looking at the condition they are exactly what the collectors out there are going to want.

See what other people think to value and that should help with putting a fair price on them. Either that or go with a 99p ebay auction and give us all something to watch

Would Chewie not have the edge on Luke price wise these days?
Anyway, 2 beautiful condition MOCs you have there, you should do very well.

You maybe right about the Chewie but it's all about what people have missing from their collection. Also there are a lot of Luke focus collectors out there and feel with this figure there's always been a bigger market for it. Maybe we'll find out if these do go up for sale.

Is that really the range for the Luke these days? I know you keep a much better track of public sales than I do so am not doubting you on this, it's just a shock that he's up to that.

I'm so out of touch with prices at the moment I think. :?

I'm basing those prices on what I can remember people trying to get for both Luke and Chewie. I think an 85 Luke was up for something like 7.5k BIN a while back but didn't sale and disappeared. It may well have had an offer accepted but I've no notes on it and think I couldn't find out what the offer price was. I think the Vectis Luke went for around 5k fairly recently and was in as good shape so I'm thinking it could possibly reach my estimate heights but probably would need a few bidders after it at the same time.

The last two Chewie's that sold on ebay were 5.5k and 3660 GBP although this one was an AFA 75 so again I'm splitting the difference on it. As you well know these prices can fluctuate like crazy (just look at the 30 back FX-7), but I wouldn't be surprised if they both got this high.

Either way they're great pieces and the prices for some of these has gotten a bit out of hand.

Well here's a strange thing, my MOC 12 back Palitoy Darth has the same score more across the back as your Han. It doesn't go through to the front but weird how there's two similar cut marks, maybe factory store purchases?

As for estimates -

12A Han with cracks in blister - 122 GBP November 2014 (yes that one was cheap and I think picked up by someone on here :D )

12A Han not the best condition - 1009 GBP March 2014

12 Han card faded a bit - 1300 GBP March 2013

12 Ben not the best - 1000 GBP March 2013

Don't seem to have any other notes so Ben's don't come up that often although both of these may well have sold at auction recently which someone might know at what cost.

My estimate would be 1-1.4k for the Han (maybe less if the person interested wants to grade it) and I'm thinking 2.2-3k for the Ben.

There's this one that didn't sale which isn't in as good shape ( unless it sold outside of ebay) -

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Palitoy-Star-Wars-12A-Back-Obi-Ben-Kenobi-MOC-Sealed-Original-UK-1977-/141562439736?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_3&hash=item20f5c76838&nma=true&si=N7xt4Ed1P7%252BhLptlmEEg2Ys47TM%253D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2557

I also seem to remember someone trying to get 3.5k for one on ebay as a BIN a while back but it wasn't in the best shape and didn't budge so I'm thinking collectors have been waiting for the right one to come along.

Love to here others thoughts.
