More Repro Figures To Come

No steve, the plot is not complicated.
I saw there were still questions form Walkie and Yoda that needed my attention, so I returned to address them. Plus a few freindly messages I got at facebook about this thread requesting more information. What can I do if more people have interest? be rude and ignore them? that is not my way.

Bonsai_Tree_Ent , Frunkstar , steve obi wan and Steve, thanks for your concerns and opinions. Dont worry, I will not extorcionate with high prices, nor will scam a few ones with auctions of "one of a kind". This is not about money as Ian Sanderson suspects. My price point range will be among 30 to 40 dollars by loose figure. It is expensive, I know, but affordable, I have seen people paying 100 dollars for a custom, I have payed more than that for some customs (awesome pieces by the way). I know that price point will not cover the cost of the mould, however I plan to reuse the mold for the creation in a future of an spacetrooper and a Han Solo in stormtrooper armor. The sketches are available to visit in the facebook page. I know I probably will loose money, it is quite a certainty. But as said before, this is not about money, this is about sharing, about legacy. I have been blessed in my life, I have been given the gift, the capacity and the resources to plasmate in reality my project as an homage to my childhood. And now Im trying to make it extensive to a few selected fellow fans who share my feelings. Some people hate my project for what I can see, ok, it is their right, they can stay out, I will not flood the markets with my figure, that was never the plan...once the first figure is sold out, I will address the next character and will continue until I get tired, actually that has been always the plan. The worst thing that might happen is that I end with a full army of sandtroopers to recreate a bizarre arrival of the emperor diorama. Im not forcing anyone to buy my figure. It is up to anyone who actually wants it until the LIMITED stock is over.

I realice that so much animosity in some guys against my project is not entirelly for the project itself, it is a personal affair against me as most can realize just reading the threat. What can I do? Im not attacking anyone, I was attacked for free.

However on the other side, I have already 127 names on a wait list, and believe it or not, 11 are form this forum. :) So there is actually positive interest in my project. I havent even presented the final figure, and the 50% is already taken in less than a month. I havent requested money to any one, until I have in my hands the figures and make a proper inspection. I clarify this because Im sure some guy will profetize I will make a fraud.

About the people I tagged, some answered, some ignored me, but the fact remains I did the job of contacting them and let them know. If some ignored me, is their right. But Im not working on the shadows, I DID THE JOB OF LETTING THEM KNOW. And I dont know why Kim would be angry, I respect him to the bottom of my soul, same with Bill, I urge you to check the message Kim left me in one of the captures I posted. Kim, as I have told him several times, is somehow the inspiration of a lot of my work. I did hours and hours of wake dreaming watching his job at the catalogs when I was a child. I love that man, and only wish the best for him.

Trust me it wont be personal at least for Mr.Orme on behalf of the copyright owners. As for your project, If 11 of the guys feel the need to in an indirect way fund Mr. Orme...then there is nothing we can do.

I like how your story changes about the "Guru"collectors who you personally contacted. I am sure they all appreciated how you were dropping their names.

Now, in better and more interesting issues aspects, ABOUT THE PAULDRON:
Thanks for your opinion on it. You know Bonsai, I studied your custom several times, I dont know where I saw it first, could have been at rebelsum or FFURG? You might be right in your apreciation, but I get some considerations:
1) I didnt want to just copy your figure.
2) At " A PLASTIC GALAXY" documental, one of the old employess said something that marked me, The CEO, at the weekly meetings, asked to the toy designers "SHOW ME THE PLAYABILITY". So I thought that with your pauldron the figure cant move properly the right arm without removing the pauldron. So I made more investigation and arrived to the conclusion a rubber little pauldron will not affect the movility of the toy. And since Kenner had already addressed rubber in the ewoks and the skirt of Sy snootles, I thought it would be a logic asumption they might have used rubber if they have addressed the figure. I tried to mold a divided pauldron, one part on the torso and other in the arm, but it ended looking pathetic.
3) I thought also that the features of my figures in general not necesarilly should be screen prefect, because they would be too modern and will not fit with the real vintage.
4) THE GUN OF YOUR CUSTOM LOOKS JUST PERFECT.

This is the first I'm seeing any of this

Bill

You don't exist anymore obviously and the discussion never happened.

...we wont ban you..we love to watch you dig your own hole and twist your statements as if we are a bunch of dribbling retards that can not somehow comprehend due to your superior intelligence.

It seems a bit unfair to keep piling on the guy,if he has contacted people in good faith not had a reply thats not really his fault, at first everyone was concerned about ormes involvement, now it just seems personal, and no i'm no fan of Ormes,

Yes...Bill McBride was obviously aware.

He didn't contact people in good faith - he just tagged them into a post and then used their names to suggest that they supported him

Arturo is using classic divide and conquer tactics (which isn't bad for someone claiming that he doesn't speak English very well!).

The facts are that he is a known supporter of reproductions, has stated that he is a personal friend (and proud of it) of one of the scummiest repro makers out there right now and has apparently just spend $22,000 on injection molding from China.

If..... and for some of us, it is a big if, he sticks to making custom figures then he will have no problems

That and he supplied some images to Orme for a reproduction Bell display. After changing his post a few times..he now claims that it was images of his first 12 customs...not to be confused with the actual first 12. The images he supplied as proof look like they were made for himself,,,and not specifically for Orme. Take that for what it is worth.

Iain did a great fair breakdown of the issues.

Plus there seems to be a lot of play on words with this guy.

I also wanted to add that a few collectors have contacted me and said I should not be to concerned with Darren Ormes boxes as they are really shitty looking and in hand are total garbage. They still could fool a novice or possibly in an Ebay auction....plus Orme is a twat.

Nah, not for me. He's telling all sorts of fibs and keeps coming back to have the last word. This thread is going nowhere.

Give the guy a chance, yes, but he keeps editing his posts. My first impression is he is as slippery as a gibbon.

Spot on, Iain. I interviewed dodgy people for 11 years for a living and I lost count of the amount of times this trick was pulled. Quite effective if you don't know what your looking for or reasons behind it. Always made me chuckle but it annoyed me the way it was done here. Between that and edited posts I think someone here couldn't lie straight in bed.
