Just brought a moc figure and it arrived today
And to my amazement picked it up and the bubble was loose and fell off!
as you can imagine I was not happy to say the least.
Anyway has this happen to anyone where over time a bubble
Has slowly come away from its card? Or it makes me think
Was this resealed ? :(

Yes, this does happen from time to time. Twice to me that I can recall. The first time it was a Trilogo that a friend had bought and the 2nd is documented here.

I've also seen it with AFA figures where nothing can be done to secure the bubble during shipping. I think in most cases it is when the bubble didn't have a good seal from the factory to begin with.

Yes I was very gutted I'm like a kid when I get
Some star wars vintage arrive then the bubble falls off!
Was not expecting that. Was a trilogo card.
Got back in contact with the seller to see if we can sort something out.

Had a Trilogo Han Bespin arrive with me with one side of the bubble seal lifted, it had happened in transit, in the end it pissed me off so much I just pulled it off the card!

Plenty of figures have turned up cracked to me, it is pretty upsetting and it isn't always the fault of the packaging, sometimes even the best packed stuff takes a knock in the wrong place or has a weaker seal than most to begin with.

It's a real shame when this happens and I feel for anyone it happens to!!
Sometime when MOCs experience very dry and hot environments for a long period of time the bubbles can fall off!! But as said a good factory seal and a controlled environment should result in a MOC lasting for as long as one looks after it!

Rotten luck there Jedi, would make me very grouchy.

Joe, I wonder is that the same Han Bespin I got from you in a terrific figure bundle that included no teeth Lando, a nice Snowie, a peachy Vader, IG88, and a sweet Tusken? The Han is in super shape and I seem to recall you mentioned it was off a Trilogo card?

Hey the same thing happened to me a few years back. Bought a 31 back Bespin Guard on ebay. When it arrived the bubble and figure were completely off the card!

It was indeed :) Glad he found a good home!

I always worry about my bubbles falling off thats why I always store mine
lying flat - I would never leave them hanging on a wall for any lengthy period of time.
This is the first time I've heard this happen though - but I'm not that surprised considering all the shock treatment they must suffer on route.
Was it one of the heavier figures and is the card torn?
Hope the seller sorts something out for you.

Nothing wrong with lying the MOCs flat, but I really don't think that having them in a vertical position is going to cause a solid sound factory seal to break.
I have displayed vintage MOCs on walls for years with no issues.

Righto, thanks for confirmation. Han Bespin was always my 'go to' Han as a kid, and my old one has many a war wound! Sorry for you that the bubble came adrift from the card, both Hans are proudly stood together in my humble little display. Nice to get some provenence for the figure, he and the others are going to stay with me for a long time to come!

Commiserations to all who have a MOC befall this fate, I imagine it's a real heartbreaker.

I've had a bubble just lift off all along one side but never the whole thing.

In terms of being sealed i guess neither could be classed as that anymore!

I've often considered lying them flat, but prefer the way the they look like they did when I saw them in shops as a kid.

My only concern with vertical display is when the bubble is majorly thin/weak/cracked near the bottom and the weight of the figure may be enough to make it worse

Yeh quite possible with say an Anakin on a Tri-logo with a damaged bubble being a hefty figure.
I think the foot plates on the earlier MOCs def help for a stable structure etc.

But yeh I wouldn't display my MOC any other way than how I rem seeing them in shops! If/when they go in storage they can have a nice rest and lay flat :D

Some of my really weak ones are secured with thin strips of sellotape which tend to hold things together and stops cracks from developing into something worse.

That way i can still display them vertically

As God intended :D

I only have 22 Tri-logos and thankfully they are all with solid factory seals.

The only MOC I have that has a possible weak seal is a POTF 2 Theatre Luke!
I put a post on this on the modern section but had no replies. Apparantly they are know to have a weak seal as many have ended up with detached bubbles!
The guy who sold it to me had sold a couple more and sent them to various places in the world and I believe all of them ended up with detached bubbles during transit-bummer!
I got the guy to personally come round with mine :) It's a mint case fresh example so you can't tell by looking at it if the seal is weak. For £20 I happily risk a vertical display
