apologies to all but I just need to vent

I've just realised that a Han Hoth MOC that I was watching and has now ended was an unknown front back combination. I was too busy to check before now :x :x :x :x :x :x :x

that coupled with being outbid for a Clipper Han Hoth by someone on here, who after they won it pm'd me to ask how much it was worth and is now flipping it, has made it a bad couple of months for Han Hoth hunting :x :x :x

thanks for listening :) :(

Know what you mean Andy, not done it myself for a while but it does right piss you off when you forget to put a bid in on owt you fancy.

In fact there is something I'm watching that's finishing in a few hours I need to bid on that's just reminded me........... cheers pal :) :)

I take it your referring to me mate.

Well, when i asked your opinion on how much it was worth i didnt know that you were bidding on it on ebay in the first place, i just knew you would be able to help me with a value as it got damaged in transit.
Then you offered me some money for it so ive put it on hold on my website, as im waiting for a claim for damage to be resolved.
Your problems should be vented with me privately mate its much easier that way.

there's no rule against bidding on ebay Andy - and no hard feelings (hence no names) but it still pissed me off. All's fair in love and ebay as they say :)

If you're just buying to flip it might be nice to give a thought to us foucs collectors

I might start bidding on Fetts

Got a link Spoons?

Gutted for you Spoons on missing out on that 48 back han hoth but another will turn up one day! :D

Plantman, surely you must have known that Spoons would be interested in the clipper han hoth with that being his character focus or at least contacted him to see if he would be bidding on it.For you to win it with the sole intention of flipping it is out of order mate.If Spoons had done something similar with a fett to you i'm pretty sure you would be a bit pissed off as well,i hope you can understand that.

As this figure has sustained some damage & seeing as you've put a claim in Plantman, why don't you sell it to Spoons once the claim has been settled? That way you get paid out on the claim & then get some money from selling it as well & then everyone is happy?! :D

Just an idea.

Mark.

First of all the nice bit.

I didnt bid on this figure to piss anyone off i bid on it hoping to get a bargain i didnt even kow i was competing with anyone on here for it..end of.

Now my vent.

I will bid on what i ****ing like on ebay, i scour it looking for bargains and i DONT need to PM and ring every collector to get permission in case it interferes with their focus.
As for Fetts, i couldnt give a **** if i lose out on a fett to anyone, its a ****ing piece of plastic and there is always another out there.
No offence to anyone but if you think i am out of order then thats fine, i dont really care, i put the han on hold for andy after i asked for his help.If any other ****er wants to jump on the bandwagon and say im a twat who bid on his figure then send me a PM about it, ive done nothing wrong.

Andy

You don't need to have bid on this figure, to have been a twat
Seriously though lol what a funny thread! Besides Spoons being **** out of luck..the rest is comical!

For the record...I don't think the human plant did anything wrong! Besides being born an ugly ****er :p

I think this thread is partly as a result of Spoons being bang outta luck ATM, we all get periods like that and **** me, they are annoying.

From what I've seen there isn't a stedfast rule of thumb for 'accepted practice' if you are bidding on an auction and someone else you know (a focus collector or someone looking to complete a run etc) is bidding on it. Some people say you should step back, some say if it's on Ebay etc then all's fair.... and others say it depends on the circumstances (your closeness to the person involved, their need for the item, the rarity of the item, how often they come up for sale etc.)

And that's all on auctions where you KNOW one of the other bidders. From what I can see Andy didn't know Spoons was bidding so I can't see he's done anything wrong. Once he found out Spoons was interested/had bid he offered to sell it to him, I'd say that's fair enough.

Have to admit I'm struggling to see anything wrong here from either spoons or Plantman. So I think this has got a little out of hand.

However on a practical side, if you make an insurance claim you lose the item I believe. Or is this not so?

Wooahhh, what's happened here!!

As Andy states he didn't know Spoons was bidding on it so I don't think he's out of order.
I think you've jumped in a bit to early there Mark :?

I'm sorry to hear you've missed out on a few Spoons mate and I can understand you feeling pissed off when you lose out on an item to be contacted a little while later asking your opinion. But Andy wasn't to know you were bidding on it so I'm sure not pissed at him personally for bidding.

true - I've just had to send the SNES I bought off Chris to Royal Mail as that got damaged in the post, they'd only refund my postage otherwise

as to this thread it's a storm in a teacup from all sides :)

as I said earlier I've no gripe with Andy - just pissed off in general. Mark's just preaching looking out for your fellow collector - which is to be commended

and I should point out that Mark may be a bit heated about the Clipper as he gave me an initial heads up on it, and even offered to loan me cash as I said I was a bit skint - a top top man 8)

The seller offered me a partial refund and asked me to keep hold of than Han until he had been given the all clear, either way as long as i get my money back im not too fussed. Hence why i PM'd spoons to find out a rough value, not even imagining he had been bidding on it as that would be rubbing it in.

First refusal still stands Andy as soon as i get the thumbs up, he may have to give me a full refund if he claims the full amount back.

cheered me up this!

nice one Darth Stanley, nothing like flying off the handle!

now kiss and make up, none of us will look!
