I've been collecting vintage Star Wars figures ever since their release. In the late 80's many toy stores were selling off the figures often very cheap. I bought lots of them and kept them in their original packaging. However I have a few figures packaged onto the wrong backing cards. There is hardly any information on the internet and I wondered if anyone else has any or knows just how rare these things are?

Most of the miscards i'v ever seen would be easy enough to have been mistaken by the factory worker for the correct figure,however the weequay for the warok is slightly odd.
As for biker scout for a droid,he must of been smoking some serious nettle.

Steve - It would be good to see some of yours, there might be some new combinations or things of interest for people to see , so snap some pictures and lets have a look

I think miscards are pretty cool. They are always good for a laugh, in the "How the **** did they not notice THAT" kinda way.
I think Gary was/is trying to put together a collection of them. He's off on hols ATM (I think) but he'll prob chime in when he gets back.

i saw a afa graded biker scout the other day that had a han blaster, it was up for about £100
Yes and no is the answer:
Real "Miscards" are 50/50 accident and on purpose from the factory and the majority are from the trilogo period yes.
You can find a few Kenner releases with the wrong figures on the cards, its rarer to find genuine mistakes from Kenner as they simply cared more and had more discipline in the factories.
If you ever see a ROTJ character on an ESB card then thats probably whats known as a "bubble test" or was used in some way to see how the characters appeared and displayed on the cards before their own cards were ready, that is a whole different realm and delves into pre production and stuff so its best not to go there just now as it can be confusing.

I wanted to show Steve this image which is indeed a "mismatched" or miscarded action figure, but its not an error.

Oh and there is a funny story to that Leia prototype - if you look at the top left hand of the card ( right side in the picture) you can see it has a store price sticker ....there was talk at the time that this figure somehow made it to the shops but I haven't heard if that is true and certainly can't see how it happened!
