I love Minder (Terry McCann years)

Anyone got any episodes they love? (there are too many for me to list)

Would love to hear your thoughts on the series.

Always fancied visiting the locations on these and other shows...

I think I watched more when Ray took over. Love the Little Britain send up they did with write the theme toon, sing the theme toon.

I live in Wapping, and can never resist doing the this time next year we'll be millionaires line when they are in shadwell basin looking for uncle albert.

And the old news international building is from the IT crowd which makes me smile when I go by.

I went to barts to look for bouncy castles in the scene where Sherlock falls from the building and posted photos to one of the fan groups.

Cheers Jason

Just flicked it on before and caught the end of an episode. I do love Minder. In the opening credits there's a Mk2 Escort in the car lot while Arthur is showing Terry the Capri. Well my own Mk2 Escort has the same 'x-pack' body kit on which is where I got the name. Another name for the kit is the 'Minder' kit.

I couldn't name any particular episodes but I remember a couple. One is where there's an Australian women who Terry is shagging and they go watching this right dodgy pub singer, bit like Chas & Dave. Another is where Terry is minding a band and the club owner is trying to do them out of some money or something. The grotty 80's feel of the series and hilarious characters are what make it. The sets as well - always some awful flat or a dingy smoky pub. Really reminds me of being a kid and actually living in pubs, which are always horribly decorated upstairs, like crap flats.

Minder was killed when they replaced Terry with that flash yuppie. Never watch those episodes.

Absolutely loved Minder and watch it if it's ever on when channel tripping.

Has to be the Terry years though, Cole was outstanding, loved Dave as well the long suffering barman, his expression when Arfur used to say "put it on the slate"

Fantastic series

Take a look at this little snippet as well, didn't know this :?:

In every episode of Minder you see a different (relatively) famous British actor. They are just people you know from dozens of films and TV series. There was one I remember with Richard Griffiths as an off the rails actor/musician. Suzi Quattro was in one, Billy Connolly, Ian McShane, Brian Blessed. Loads :)

Yep spot on - that one with Richard Griffiths was brill

There was lots of Scots that popped up in the episodes which I loved - usually stereotypes but totally brill - a real British affair was Minder

Is there a Minder fan club or something? I'm thinking that if there is they probably have filming locations.

On the subject of locations, some I would love to go to are those used in The Young Ones - the house, the circular pub where they watch Madness, the high street where they go to the dry cleaners. Love The Young Ones series :)

I was watching it a lot recently when itv4 were repeating them. Such a good show. A stand out for me was one with Ray winstone whenwe was a kid, it was scam being pulled on a yatch club or something to do with boats

My dad loves it not only because it is a great show but because of the all old cars etc. one of the episodes was filmed on the estate in Acton he grew up on which has since been flattened. Apparently my grandad old Granada can be seen parked up in one scene.
