Hi everyone! :D
I'm looking for a bit of advice from you lovely people. My OH is a huge fan and I have been getting him various bits and pieces over the years. My most recent purchase for him is a Return of the Jedi Millennium Falcon. Unfortunately it is missing the instructions and I was hoping to purchase these separately. The bit I'm struggling with is that I've seen them with a black background and white text and there is one available that is white with black text. Could anyone tell me what the difference is? I don't want to spend money on the wrong instructions!
Thankyoooou! :)

Hi,

Well the 'right' instructions depends on which box you have. If it's a Kenner ROJ one, then you want the Kenner ROJ instructions, if Palitoy ROJ, then those instructions, if Tri-logo, then those ones, etc. The instructions sheet should carry the same make and logo as the box itself. The Kenner ROJ sheet is black with white writing (and Kenner logo on the bottom front left corner of the sheet), the Palitoy ROJ sheet is white with black writing (and has Palitoy printed on it, I believe on the last page as part of the address, but I don't have a set of those instructions to hand to check). I'm not sure about the colour of the tri-logo sheet, but the give-away will be that it will have multiple languages on it, not just English. Hope that helps.

You. An find pics of the ROTJ falcon instructions in my focus.

Black if Kenner
White if Palitoy/General Mills

Thankyou both so much for your help! :D
I have bookmarked your fantastic link for future reference walkie ;)

I'm sorry to be such a newbie on all this, but I was wondering if you could help me again 8)
The falcon is here!!! :D
The only bit that confuses me is that the box is ROTJ Palitoy 1983 and the falcon has copyright Kenner 1979 underneath. Is it the earlier Falcon in the later box or is this correct?
Thankyou for putting up with my complete lack of knowledge but I can't ask the OH as it's a surprise present for him

As far as I know all Falcons have the same markings as the date is copyright and not a manufacturing date.

Yes, I'm sure you're correct. They only updated the boxes as each film came out / they wanted to refresh the packaging, not the toy itself, otherwise they would have changed the copyright stamp too. FYI MCMitten, Palitoy were producing them under license from Kenner, so don't be surprised to see Kenner's name on the toy itself, as that's quite correct.

Thankyou both! :D For a complete novice such as myself there are so many ins and outs to collecting these wonderful items, so it's really lovely to have such knowledgeable and helpful people that I can call upon with my silly questions :) so thankyou all again!
